GTX LTD 98.I hope someone has a solution for removing the nut that is on the lower side of the header pipe.I have to remove it to get to the oil pump. There is 3 allen head bolts/screws but in under the main pipe right beside the carbies is a nut and washer. It has got me stuffed because there is so very little room to swing any type of spanner.Even to get a ring spanner on it is nearly impossible.Pleazzzzzzzzzzzzze.Can anyone help me .
The header pipe is number 3 on the parts list.

Head pipe.

Forgot to ask.Because I can't get a spanner on this nut,Can anyone confirm what size it is please.i.e. 14mm,9/16 . Thank you

header pipe removal

Thanks for your reply sketch. My problem is I cannot even get a ring spanner over the stud and nut because of the clearance between the end of the stud and the header pipe.An open end spanner can JUST go on but I don't have any throw on the spanner. The only thing I can see is to grind down a ring spanner or maybe there is a special tool for the job.Pleeeeezze help.5 bolts to undo for the job and this one tight fitting, close mounted, inaccessable little silver headed mongrel is stopping me:banghead:
(stay cool.All is good.)
Anyway.Thank you

sbt has the "wrench" for 15 buks. Its a 15mm

Why you get'n to the oil pump? If your bypassing it, just cut/plug line at resivoir?

you don't need to take the pipe off to get to the oil pump. remove the airbox and the mag side vent and you can reach through the pipe no problem.

fyi, you don't need the special wrench to remove that nut. just unbolt the carbs, 4 bolts - 3 minutes, and let them hang, don't disconnect anything. then you have plenty of room to remove/install that nut and torque it properly, very critical.

Header pipe removal

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
To run premix,I thought I still had to let the oil pump have a supply of oil. That's why I was going to pull off the header pipe and make sure all the lines were good etc.
Whilst doing that,if I could repair the pump,I would of.
If all I have to do to premix is to block off that oil line and add oil to the fuel.Wow.thankyou.Seadooya(dogs clacker:)Is that all I do?
Guys.Things are hard to find and get, here in Oz.
All help is soooooooooo good.I have tried to read all I can in the forums.
(haha.Just block the line and add some oil.I feel stupid now.Just shows,You don't have to have a long neck to be a goose)
Thank you so much guys
