has anyone used ses for engines?

I said that the website looked good.
I wasn't necessarily stating the the actual website looked good as much as I was stating that the products and service looked worthy of checking out. I worded my statement wrong, but instead of downing folks and making fun...maybe a post for clarification would be better. Trying to "one up" people is never a positive thing.

Sorry folks, I wasn't clear that I was commenting on the PTP site when I said it wasn't a good site. I think Harry was just commenting on his experience with SES, not trying to "one up" anyone.
I agree that PTP could be worth checking out. I've read other folks on here that had good experiences buying parts from them. Please report back if you use them.

I wasn't trying to offend anyone...just throw out another engine re builder option. As is with most things, there are those (rjcress) who are quick to "dis" helpful information. Therefore most of the time I try not to miss a chance to shut up.

Yeah, I see your point and appreciate that you posted about another option. I'll try to think through my posts a bit better so that I'm not unintentionally dissing anyone for being helpful. I probably should have taken the opportunity to shut up from the start.
Please accept my apology and continue to share any info that you find.

Well, I was going to "reply with quote" but decided a blanket apology was more in order. I am "old school" and still a little internet cautious, prefer to deal one on one or at least over the phone. No hard feelings I hope, enjoy!:grouphug:

i was pissed about the turnaround but apparently some of the blame goes towards canadian customs !!

JUst curious how much customs ended up costing as well as shipping to and from, need a 951 rebuilt this winter and am considering SES after reading this thread. Am located in the Toronto area. Figure I'll get it to them early this fall so I don't need to worry about long turnaround time.

@ SabrToothSqrl or anybody else who has a broken in SES engine, did anybody ever get a compression reading on their SES engine? preferably from a 951 but I'll take any results :)

And or does anybody have a good Canadian alternative to SBT, SES for a complete rebuild? Local BRP dealer is quoting me $2,014 plus 13% tax for a BRP 947 short block, part #421000562

Cheers,

Matthew

I shipped mine to and from SES from an outlet in Blaine, Washington, just a 15 minute drive from home. It cost me about $70 for shipping. On the way back I only paid the 12% hst.

Thanks for the info Robj, not a bad idea, Buffalo is about 1.5 hours from the GTA, not entirely sure the the drive and cross boarder line up is worth it, will need to get actual shipping $$ to and from the US to figure out the best course of action.

We probably use the same outlet....Matthew - what about the same concept? I'm sure just across the US border there are
outlets that cater to Canadians.
