GTX DI vs GTX RFI

What is the difference between the two as far performance, reliability, self service ablility? I have a DI now and looking at unloading it since I've had my issues and read others concerning them. Found a reasonably priced RFI locally, but don't want to go from the pan to the fire. Or would I be better off just going to a carb model like my 97 GTX that runs great and is easily servicable?
 
You pretty much answered your own question...LOL carb is the easiest.

I would say a RFI is a better choice b/c there is less parts (no compressor) and the 800 motor is far more reliable than a 951 in general. More HP = More lateral force on crank bearings = shorter engine life. I should also add this is a seadoo thing b/c they didnt really beef up bearings as the HP grew. It also has to do with bearings getting pitted by water; the reason I preach fogging motors after every ride if possible.

just wanted to check, when you fog a motor, do you shoot it into the top of the carb, or take off the gas line, and shoot it in there? i know fogging is recommended for winterizing, but is it necessary in FL? or you would recommend after everyride if possible?
 
into the carb's not into the fuel line, is it necessary in FL ? no... is it recommended, yes..i should fog more but I don't. just to throw a rule of thumb out there, if its going to sit for 3 weeks, fog it. It can't hurt.

as far as di/rfi/carb

as far as simplicity,, carb wins all day long, rfi comes in to place, and di gets the show ticket. in other words, what they said above.
 
Ok, so I took my advice and bought another 97 GTX so I'm going to sell the DI. Need to replace the fuel lines and have the carbs rebuilt. Trying to remember who the go to guy to send them to was? Thinking it was Dr. Honda?
