I ordered new needle and seats for my carbs. I want to check popoff while I am at it and I want to make my own gauge. Any good writeups/picture tutorials on this?
After reading that section I went out and pieced together a tester.
One thing I cant seem to find though, does the tester apply pressure into the fuel inlet or a suction(reverse pressure) from the fuel inlet?
You will put pressure on the inlet side of the needle... and when the pressure is high enough... the needle will "pop-off" of it's seat. It should be a clean pop... and not a slow leak at the given pressure.
