Thanks Double S. No that rev limiter goes in a big bin of electrical parts for now. I agree that it is a nice ski and don't want to complain. You know as well as I that these things come with tons of little disappointments and surprises once you dive in to take a closer look. I'm always on here like "look how awesome it is and how little I paid" so I wanted to balance that with a little reality for future readers.

Nam- that big ugly thousand dollar thing you posted is a deal in my opinion due to the trailer. That Triten double is the best out there.

Look at the ad itself. The text and description are a picture. Read to the bottom of the ad and there are quite a few different phone numbers and descriptions for other things. I see the exact same style ad around here, and they are all phishing scams.

oops, i'll admit i didn't read it that carefully, so your probably right, I scanned down and saw "non running" so I did the math carry on...

if I assume this is an accurate description: This is why I have to be very selective on rebuilding complete ski's around here... they are going so cheap these days.

Is that your work Spim? Looks like a straight up 787 in there. Wouldn't that have been an RFI originally? It is very clean and reasonable. I have three skis ready to go but will wait for better times to try and sell them. I've seen clean 96XP's sit forever in the $1500 range and would like to see that money for mine. I'm just gonna have to time it right (and maybe find me one of those hard, tooth brush hitt'in hungry detailers).

no not mine, just a good representative of what is a $1700 ski in Florida, and sadly its a realistic price for a clean 2 stroke around and he still might not get what he's askin. They're getting so cheap !

hmm.. it used to read 650 for both, so I thought he dropped the price, it really sounded like they ran, both need batteries, and one needed i think he said exhaust pipe, when i talked to him on the phone, that was pretty much what I got from it, he said he bought them, worked on them, and preferred to work on bikes instead. both supposedly have titles, it's real tempting, but no storage space

just a lil background info, i asked how much he was asking, he said make an offer, I said 900, he said "1250?" I asked if the one with a starter has good compression, he said if I was serious, he would take off the starter on the good one, and put it on the other one for me, I said I'm still lookin round, so u might be able to come off 1250 some too, esp if you get there and something isn't what you thought it would be.

wouldn't those be 98's ? I didnt' think the 96's were the ugly purple/red....
and if they are 98's I think they might be 951's and in that case, its a STEAL.

He has the price in the title $2--that is CL code for 2 grand. Some guys use that for cheap asses like us that search up to a certain dollar value and it gets them more hits. So if you search for a max price of $1500(my max for anything on CL) his $2 listing will pop up and will entice you to bite and offer him $1500. Pretty slick huh? I hate when guys do it and by me tons of guys do it and then throw in like two full pages of "keywords" from pony to aircraft carrier, jerks.

you're right a lot of people do do that for 2g's but I think another reason is that a lot of people put $1, so that when u hit lowest price, those people will be on the top of the search, so what I actually do is I put lowest price at $5, so it'll eliminate those as well, best thing to do is give the guy a call, and see what he says, if i were him, I wouldn't want to sell it at 1250 either.... so maybe he changed his mind, but he asked me to make offer, so i made 900, and he said "1250?"

I wasn't tryin to buy anyway, I just hate it when people say make offer, and I wanted to see what he was asking, obviously i'm gonna wanna say $35
