Engine tapping or knocking noise at idle - looking for possible sources

That engine has a nasty shake to it and sounds pretty rough. There is a reason he will not let you water test it. PASS

Good call, there is something fishy with that thing. Unless your willing to gamble another $1500 for a rebuild and to get it all up to snuff there no sense. Another one will come around, just keep your eyes open. Keep checking the Florida Classified thread http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?52588-Florida-Classifieds&p=431753#post431753 the guys post up some good ones that you might like.
 
sounds like something caught in the rotary valve, most likely the rotary valve is bent in a way that its not stripping the gear. if you listen to the frequency it sounds like it is 2 times per rotation so it would have to be something that affects both cylinders. probably explains why it doesn't want to idle too.

I was wondering if anyone was going to consider the rotary valve question asked at the beginning of thread.
