Electrical Issues - NEED HELP

2007 RXT - My ski reads error codes p0326 (Knock sensor) and p0462 (Fuel Sensor). It will not go any higher than 6000 rpms (it feels as if the computer is limiting the speed, nothing mechanical) and the speedometer will quit working (stutter between 0-1mph) at high speeds. Low speeds, speedo works fine. Battery is new and I made sure it was fully charged. Gas was new rec90 ethanol free. The ski has 30 hours but lots of corrosion due to very poor maintenance from the previous owner. Dealer wants to take a guess at cleaning the ground connections for $280 and if that doesn't work they want to replace harness for $900. Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately electrical gremlins can be a real pain and very time consuming to solve. Lots of corrosion simply exacerbates the problem. Your problem could definitely be caused by corrosion and bad grounding somewhere the system.

You can either pay someone else to do the work or do it yourself. Will need to go through every connector, and wire, clean and lubricate then test with an electrical tester to make sure you have no ground faults. Alternative is simply buy new stuff...so I agree with the dealer. need to weigh your options, no easy fix here.

Mechanic's prices seem fair for the work that needs to be done. Alternatively, you could save a lot doing the work yourself. His diagnoses seems spot on though.
