I have a 97 GTX and think the computer is bad. If I buy one off of EBAY will I have any trouble getting a key made for it. I wont have the title for the machine it came out of, but I would have my title. How do I make sure its not out of a stolen machine. I know I should just buy a new one from the dealer, but money is tight so hoping to save some dough. What is the procedure for having a new key made can I bring just the new used computer or do I need to install it first? Do I just need to bring my title/registration.

Thanks for the help.

the dealer doesn't care most of the time. tell them you swap the MPEM, and you need you key programed to it.

put it in your ski first to make it easy on the mechanic.

ebay?

Most of the time, if you get one from ebay, it's not really that much cheaper than if you buy one brand new. Beware of the MPEM's for sale that are not OEM. There are a lot of aftermarket ones out there.

The other problem with ebay is DOA... Yeah, they say they will refund or replace but I've already had members who got screwed, tried to get in touch with the dealer, just to find he was no where on ebay to be found. So watch ebay purchases...:ack:
