Here in Indiana thats not a good deal. I might pay 800 for that ski in good running order with a trailer and having it need nothing. Its not very desireable. Slow and not the best hull.

I thought the price was too high, but if one could pick it up on the cheap, I thought maybe. But the "not very desirable" has me not interested in offering the $250 I was thinking about.

Well, it is a really clean hull, and hey, if the trailer has a title that his buddy lost when he moved from out of state and will send to the buyer when he finds it, that's a deal!

I think this is the motor on ebay!!

When the motor doesn't sell, I'll contact him and tell him if he includes the motor I'll give him 50%!!

Here is the same hull, different ad (registration #'s are the same) at either $150 or $175 (depending what number you want to use.
Original ad is now $500 w/o motor and trailer.

6g's??? and 60mph stock? he is on that good crack

If the trailer light repair is any indication of things........ Run, & run fast!

I often wonder how many of these listings are inevitably forum members adds..... A few times now, we have made posts & the adds
ironically disappear.......

I thought those skis did get close to 60mph in perfect form? my 97 XP has seen 56-57mph GPS
Good thing he clarified that's its 60mph on water. I was wondering what it would do on land.

This isn't a LOL story but more of a craigslist F U rant.

I call a guy about a jet ski, through the conversation I asked him not once but twice about the registration for the "ski and for the trailer"

His reply both times "yes, it's in my hand"
"Is it in your name"
"In my dads name"
"will he be there to sign off on it"
"Yes"

Guess what happens when I drive a half an hour down there at exactly the time we agreed on meeting:
A)No registration card for trailer (he had a card for a 10 year older different model trailer and it wasn't signed off by the dad anyway)
B)No registration card for ski
C)Dad is no where to be found and not answering his phone

Good grief

Funny story about that deal, the reason they were selling the ski is the husband and wife got divorced and the wife got the cabin, the husband got the jet ski. Ouch.

That one actually doesn't seem like too bad of a deal. but, for another $1200 you could have this one & not get a trailer with it.

I just sold my 97 XP for $2000, it was stupid clean with low hours & no damage whatsoever. not even a dock ding. while it was hard to let it go, I thought that was strong money based on it being 17 years old! I listed it at $2150 knowing if somebody came to look at it I wouldn't have to budge on the price much.

But, nobody is going to pay $3500 for a 97 unless it comes in the wooden crate it was originally shipped in.... thats twice retail book value. ridiculous.....

maybe I'm wrong, but sometimes I think people try to get extra cash for the emotions they have for their stuff. I get that, but a buyer isn't going to care about anything but their wallet when searching.

Just phoned a guy near me... 01 GTX 951 carb, blown... $1200 no trailer.

I said $600 without seeing it is a fair offer since the engine is out of it, and I haven't seen it, and there's no trailer!

let's do some math.

Running GTX w/trailer, used: $2500

Engine Rebuild: $1200
Misc. Parts $200
Registration / paper work BS: $150
trailer: $300

Leaves me with $650 to pay for a ski, with NO profit margin.

What if it also needs a starter? wear ring? prop?

While I have most of these parts laying around, many people don't.

I'm not being a prick, these are the numbers people. your 13 year old not working, no trailer, engine blown and removed ski just isn't worth what you think it is...

I said I'd bring a trailer, pick it up, and i pay CASH. When he gets tired of people, I said.. call me. I have a trailer for it, and.. pay CA$H.

I like your math!! I'm attempting to find the same deal near me (except 96/97 XP w/ 787). I figure once people start getting out and blowing stuff up, it will start appearing. Just need to keep Jetskigoodies away from all the deals.

Better put in some late nights/early mornings to beat JSG.

LOL, here's not to shabby of a deal. I figure the trailer is in the $5-$600 range so at $2500($300 less than asking) you'd be $950 per ski and who knows that 95 could be one of the 500 X engine skis.
