must be similar to the 97+ XP? very tippy machines at idle. Fine in clam water, but idling in rolling waves, not so easy.

Not so much, the 97 xp is a little tipsy but the hx is like doing a high wire balancing act. It is almost impossible for a bigger guy to board from the rear. If you fall on in deep water you need to lean it to the side and give it gas while pulling yourself up. In calm water just idling is when it is the hardest to ride. People who own them love them but if you are not familiar with them it is very difficult to ride

I so love my HX, my kids are already fighting over it when they're old enough. I'm 6'2" 230# I can rear board but my fat azz will sink the ski so the rear of the seat is under water so I just side board most of the time. Yes, no wake zones can be tough but I put my vest against the bars to get my center of gravity better and just blip the throttle along and it's really no problem. I really like how it cuts through the water like a knife, chop is no problem. It totally is a love it or hate it ski. I do not ride my HX that hard but I love how it cuts(turns) and the suspension seat is sweet for a long ride. I can get about 53 miles out of a tank of gas with some jacking around and cruising about 3/4 throttle.

I say the hx is the dirtbike, the xp is a sport quad, the Gsx is the utility quad, and the Gtx is the side by side. If compared to land powersports

I was actually going to start a thread on this exact topic, well I guess I just will... It is an interesting concept.
