I dont have room to park my boat in my garage with my F-150, Mustang, and the wifes Explorer, so I am forced to cover the boat, how would be the best way to cover it, if I simply cover the boat with its oem cover it holds water, I fashoned some bows out of pvc but they dont work too well, how does everybody else cover their boat?

Inside the garage is best. No cleaning when going to go out and the vinyl’s will last a lot longer. Cars can handle the weather a lot better than the boat.

I totally agree with CJ! If you look at his avatar, thats the best way to store a boat......Inside uncovered. No matter how good your boat cover, you'll get dirt, mildew and streaking when out in the elements.

Yeah, I agree, if I could I would, but the Mustang is a convertible and is over 40 years old, so it cant sit out. My 150 already sits outside with the boat, and the wife is far too proud of her Explorer to let it sit out. I think its time to draw up some plans for a second garage in the back yard, I am thinking 40 inch plasma on the wall and a kegerator beside the air compressor.

Leave the explorer in the driveway and put the boat in the garage

Gotta have ur priorities in order :rofl:

2nd garage may be a better idea lmao

My Sunbrella cover came with a pole that buttons into the middle, and extends, so it holds the center of the cover up higher than the rest of the cover. When it rains, 95% of the water just slides off.

I would guess that an adjustable curtain rod (with the spring in the middle) would hold the center up just fine and the rubber boots on the ends would keep it from hurting the boat or the cover.

I personally keep mine in a garage at work, but at times I bring it home to do work on it, and it may sit outside for a week or two. Wife as an 05 BLACK mustang convertible (imagine stray cats jumping onto THAT :ack:) and my Maverick in the garage, so the boat HAS to be out on the driveway when it comes home.

I use my old pull tube under the stock cover wedge it between the 2 wind shields it keeps the rain off great..!

Ventilation

When I store my boat with the cover on for long periods should i come up with some type of inlet/ out let with a vent fan to keep air circulating?

I am using a poppy cover that is a tight fit, with another loose cover on top of it to keep the poppy protected from sun rays.

I purchased another lose cover to go over my OEM cover, I bought one of those nifty poles to hold up the center of the cover, that should keep water from pooling on the cover, for now, I also placed a cheap fan in the floor of the boat to keep the air moving. I will defiantly have to figure something better out before winter.
