cant set/tune, with airbox assy off, or any part of the airbox assy, being removed. The manifold pressure will be different, the air intake will be differet, then run'n condition. Keep assy intact, then fish around to find the idle screw, turn accordingly.
well i finished the top end rebuild, and rebuilt my carbs......
i have both engines idling at 1500 in the water (2000 out of water... but i guess thats not a big deal). both fire right up, and the boat runs great.... up until the 5000-7000 RPM range
i'm not sure what is supposed to happen at 5000 RPMs for these engines (popoff occurs? raves open?) but both engines will shoot from 5k to 7k and hover there for a few seconds, then drop to 5k, then shoot to 7k again for a few seconds, then drop back down to 5k... etc.... they have a mind of their own
if i go full throttle to get the engines to 7k but cut back on the throttles a little bit before they drop to 5k, then they will run fine at high 6000's range without falling back.
so does this mean theyre getting too much fuel?
popoff is around 42, LSA is 1.5, HSA is 0, 67.5 pilot jets, 122.5/125 main jets
also... the RAVE's are clean and i unscrewed their caps so the red part is flush with the black lip
this is so frustrating... any idea what i should do?
