So has anyone ever drilled tapped and put in a drain plug for there waterbox?I have a 97 gtx and I would think its a good idea when flushing after salt water use to remove drain plug and let it run out the bungs? Is it necessary?its aluminum right?
start it up on the trailer, hit the throttle 2-3 times quickly, turn engine off, water will spray out the back, after two or 3 blows, no more water will come out, (although some will still be left inside)
Haha OK then.its been in fresh water its whole life on one dam used once or twice a year at a holiday house I was told.I will be using it in mainly salt water.so I was thinking things would start rusting now.

i wouldn't sweat it. honestly, if your going to ride in salt frequently, the waterbox is the least of your problems.
cables, connections, rear motormount bracket, and misc bolts are your biggest concern.
invest in saltaway...
then buy a can of c-block or better yet.. fluid film.
and rinse the interior of the hull frequently, all moving parts as well, then hit them with a shot of protection, and stay on top of it, or your'll be replacing moving parts very soon.
Ok thanks I will do that.I don't know what the internals look like but would think there would always be water in there....unless the exit pipe goes all the way to the bottom of the box.anyways thanks guys
