I have a broken part on an optional oem equipment, seadoo rear boarding step.
Anyone know if its possible to buy parts for them? I don't see anything in the parts diagram. I also have an email in to Aqua Performance to see what they say.
Hopefully I don't need to replace the whole unit...... ?

I think you'll find Aqua Performance very easy to deal with. They replaced the rubber on a step for free and even paid the freight. Good people.

I hope they can help. I found the entire (same) replacement step & its $240.00 Ouch.
The step is in mint shape otherwise.

I agree with Lou. They are a great company and value their customer base. I would let them know when you speak with them that you have heard from others about how they stand behind their products and that you are looking forward to giving them that same praise on this Seadoo Forum that has over 62,000 members....

aqua performance has that complete step for 160.05. but hopefully you can just get the part you need. i have a aqua step being shipped for my ski.

Seems like there a quite a few different kinds that they make.

The one I need parts for looks like this one. Its all plastic except for the internal springs & fasteners.

I talked to Aqua Performance & not good news. It would appear the plastic type I have is mfg by them for seadoo, so seadoo holds all the rights to selling them. Whats worse is they said no parts are available for this type. In other words, break it & throw it away.:(

I would expect more from step that costs over $225.00

Maybe there is somebody out there that has a broken one I could buy as the hinges are identical left /right. I'll look on ebay.....

Boarding steps are for woosies, take it of and patch the holes.

Lou

Stop beating around the bush Lou. Just tell me what your thinking. :D

No question it will have 6 stainless screws that will do nothing before I pay $225 for a new one. But, as long as its there now, I wouldn't mind trying to find some parts. Never had one before, But I can tell you it would have been nice on the 97 XP. That thing is a bear to get on in the middle of the lake. Very tippy machine as it is.

Do you have this style? Here's a couple pictures, including one of the broken bracket. The left & right side brackets interchange. Really don't want to make any new holes in the hull & use a different style if I can help it.

Let me know your thoughts!

must be off your 08? I have one similar on a 03 gtx 4tec but it isnt the same. Call St. Boni motorsports and beg for Justin to help you. If anyone can find replacement seadoo parts he can.

I'll look into that. What did you find with that 4tec engine? Rod through the block, or spit the timing chain? only had something like 150 hours didn't it?

Here you go, sorry I took so long.....................

2012 GTX 215, it seems the earlier steps were metal with foam and the later were plastic. You will need to do more leg work as some models use different brackets it seems. I'll let you make teh mistake on buying the wrong parts, LOL

wow! Check that out!

I called aqua performance & they told me seadoo had exclusive on the steps & parts where not available, only complete steps. Your proving the Mfg of the step wrong here. I only tried to look up the 2008 model I have, & when it wasn't shown on the hull diagram I assumed it was true. Never would I have thought to look at another model where it comes standard on.

Maybe SHS can still add the parts to an order I just placed yesterday. I'll have to call Andy.

Thanks for this info !

Glad to help out RT. In 08 the step looked like the metal one with the foam (by looking at the fiche), so I knew I had to go newer to get to the plastic.

I wasn't smart enough to look at newer, or other models. I only looked at the diagram for the 08 RXPX.
So, with your info I was able to order the parts new. for two pieces of plastic they are overpriced IMO at $60, but still cheaper than a new step.

Thanks!

Haaahhahaaa,

I figured since you keep denying you drive the car, you could at at least put the plate on your current ride.
