I wouldn't trust a local machine shop to rebuild a crank as it's a decently complex proces. Compare the price of an oem crank o from dealer to a crank from the three popular pwc engine builders. OEM is best, but oem not in your budget sbt is best imo
Hard to get under this guy... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Seadoo-XP-S...ash=item1a096f6e7e:g:KOwAAOSwZd1VbaTq&vxp=mtr

Dang, only $900 for a full longblock w/2 year warranty. I wonder how they compare to sbt. I know where to go if i need a new engine down the road lol! I believe I paid around $600 for a used oem motor 3-4 years ago.
Hey guys, i got one with the crank seals starting to go out. i know about the shut off to install but who will rebuild the crank or whats the best way to get one and for the best $
thanks
Scott
That guy is in NY, I wouldn't touch any of his chit with a 10 foot pole. Members here have bought cranks from him that ran out and the webs hit the case. You get what you pay for.
so $300 for a crank, how much is a full engine rebuild w/a 2 year warranty?
Just tossing out the idea of spending not much more, and getting a whole engine![]()
Dang that's unfortunate but thank you for the heads up!
You have a few different flavors in your ski profile, which ski needs the crank?
If it's a 657 or smaller I'd say just go to SBT, 720 and bigger I'd go OEM.
SES does cranks. He is not the fastest but he work it solid.. I have an engine from him and I can tell you he does uphold is warranty. Rebuilt cranks around $300, New ones like WSM are in $400-$450 range. Than a whole engine is $800-$1000. So by the time you get gaskets and crap going the lowest option you have to be $400 or so. Unless you have 100 hours or less just speed another $400-$00 an get a whole engine. That is what I did this for my boat this winter 2 - 717's Pro-Line rebuilds from Fullbore for $900 each plus shipping ($60 each)

Edit:
Another guy in Canada had issues too.
