Has anyone used these and what do you recommend? Also how well do those desulphanators work.

I use one. I got it at a local auto parts store and it works great. Keeps the battery charged up during storage by monitoring it's voltage and charging only if it drops.

Better than trickle chargers as they typically just send a low charge constantly or at timed intervals to the battery, even if it is not needed.

charges

I have 4 batteries in my bathroom for the winter... I got a $20 black and decker one that I can switch between 1 and 2 amps it glows orange charging, and green done.

Every 2 weeks or so I just put it on batt 1, till light green, then 2-4

But yes, if you only have 1 battery you can leave it on the one forever...

1 amp jet ski battery 2 for car / boats.

I forgot to look last night, but will do so the next I remember. Mine cost only $20 as well.

One feature I like about mine is that when plugged in, you can touch the two ends (+/-) and it will not spark. It will only send a charge through if it detects it is actually hooked up to a battery.

I use a Die Hard maintainer/charger. Got it on sale last year for $17. I have a 12 volt lighter type plug installed by the battery switch. It serves 2 purposes. I use it for the air pump and then when I want to, I charge the batteries through it. It comes with the lighter plug, the pigtail to hard wire on the battery or clamps. It's on sale right now for 20. Comes with a 3 year warranty.

Thanks for the info!!!! I have a reg manual schumacher charger and I really like it. I will go by and get one. I will try this instead of replacing the battery.

thats a good price!!!

I have 2 jet ski, 3 snowmobile and 2 tractor batteries that i keep going strong for years. Always pull them when off season. Keep them inside during winter (freezing is what kills them). I just throw a reg charger on them once every month or 2 and they have yet to let me down. CCC

I ordered the BatteryMinder plus with a desulphanator built in to it. I will post how well it brings the battery back to life. I also picked up a battery tester cheap.

I finally received the tester and battery minder in last night. Im testing it on the boat battery now. The tester was only $19.00 from Northern tool and the battery minder was $39.00.
