97 XP Intake Grate threads gone

I have a SEADO XP 97 STOCK, I've lost 2 intake grate now because the threads on the hull are worn out and the screws don't catch.

I'm thinking about drilling right through and bolting it on.

Has anyone does this? will the screws be obstructed? Any tips on what to do?

JB WELD didn't work well,

Thanks

If I remember correctly the stock inserts are fiberglassed in so I don't think you can get them out to epoxy in new ones.
I would drill out the bad threads and either helicoil the threads or through bolt them but make sure there is nothing on the inside to hit or damage.
To seal anything below the waterline use 3M 5200.

Thanks I'll order the replacement part some people sell it with the screws and figure out which are the bad threads I took on this machine from a family member so I inherited the problems that came with it.
