1997 Challenger MPEM

Hello ... wondering if anyone can help.. I have a 1997 challenger that has worked great for years... unfortunately this year after sitting in storage, the battery was low so I decided to use my portable battery booster to start the boat (now I know that was a Big mistake)... it started well, but before I could disconnect the battery booster the engine cut off... then nothing.. no solenoid click.. after a bit of research, I am quite certain that I blew the diode in the MPEM.. searching for a replacement MPEM has been eye-opening... hard to believe that SEADOO designers would be so stupid to design a part that could not be repaired or replaced... never the less... I have managed to source a replacement MPEM from a 1996 seadoo speedster with twin 720 engines.. my challenger is a single engine 787... can anyone tell me if the 1996 speedster MPEM would work? hoping that someone from this community can comment and/or offer some advice... thank you in advance... Derek
