Are these movable/reversible? Carb issue

I've been looking for a nice set of used carbs and the cheapest set I've found that need to be rebuilt are $99, so if I add new kits, I'm looking at like $180.

For that price, I would just rebuild my own. The problem is, it looks like the PO get this set from either a boat, or maybe they were two single carbs that he linked?
I want to rebuild these but I want to make sure:
A) are these two barbs/inlets reversible to where they can be set NORMALLY (like how these other nasty ones are) for my ski?
and
B) even if they are reversible, are the insides of these carbs the same? (I'm thinking if they were setup like this, it was for a reason, and maybe the flow/circuit is not setup like the left carb?)

Essentially, I want the BLACK carbs to have the inlets facing the way they are on the CRAPPY carbs.. Is this possible?
Thanks guys

Boy, the old ones look dirty. Are they corroded by salt? Never saw that in freshwater.

There was another guy on this forum who wanted to rebuild a set of carb and I can't answer your first question but a set of new dual carbs at OSD parts were at 380.00$ I believe (you are almost half way there). They sell them as a kit so it is ready for your own ski.

As for the second question, I found out that despite being the same "model" of carbs, you may have different jets sizes and needle/seat in there and even a different "spring arm". So if you don't know to what these carbs were plugged to exactly, you nay be looking at additional parts as well (needle and seat for sure). I almost made that mistake when looking at a carb on eBay. I was told it had the wrong jet, etc. for my own Sea-Doo even if it was the same model (Mikuni BN40).

I am sure a more expert person than me will provide more detailed explanations for you. I just wanted to point out the cost of buying used then having to rebuild vs price of a new set sold in a kit.

I just looked at some of your posts and you may be more experienced than me...

Yes, I stripped all the paint off and was going to repaint until I noticed the bolt housings are cracked

Try putting a T in instead of the Y. It's jus the return circuit

Yea that's the problem.. If it's all the same, I'll just rig up T's and loop the bottoms somehow, but I'm wondering what setup this would be used for

I would either buy a good running pair or buy new.
the ones you have look pretty rough, by the time you clean, buy the rebuild kits, new N&S, and then rebuild them....you're also up to the cost of a new pair.
Just my 1.5 cents.

Sdb, I'm not trying to use the nasty ones.. Was trying to use the better ones. But they're not set up right. 1of500 thanks

Dude, did you hit Braley up? He's probably got a 5 gallon bucket full of carbs.

Hey Rob,
Thanks.. There's something going on with my tapatalk as well, it says network not currently available for messages and subscriptions. I emptied my inbox also. Waiting to see if Braley has a decent used set that I can rebuild but I don't think he got my PM reply this afternoon either. I'll contact you Monday if I can't get a decent pair by then. Thanks!

Forgot about the pictures they have seen some salt on the outside. But, I think they are build able. You can have them just pay shipping.

I think you should get new ones from OSD parts. Really not worth the trouble of getting used ones that have to be rebuilt. Start fresh. Less of a headache.

Lol benji, how about I continue to buy all the diapers and formula(single dads with no boobs, you know what I'm taking about) for my newborn and you spot me the 5 large, or 5 "benjis" and then I'll get those carbs from OSD.. Lol. 1of500 yea sure why not it's worth a try.. I'm sure out of all three sets I can come up with something that works. If not, then I'll hit up rob then Braley. Braleys kinda got the same thing going on, where I'd have to build them.
Also, I did a little research and it looks like those inlets can be pulled out, but they usually become damaged, so for $5 I can buy replacement press in ones. Only issue is allegedly its recommended to use some sort of loctite or silicone (id think that silicone would be weak) so I'm hoping they're not unreliable.. If they press right in and are snug I guess they'll be ok.

Has anyone ever used those press in 90 degree inlets?

If the internal rubber parts of the current carbs are good use them in the new bodies. Alot of ppl don't replace all of the parts when they rebuild carbs I've seen some ppl just clean if the rubber parts are in good condition

On the brass fittings, use red lock tite. You can freeze them to help with installation, but you have to work quickly, brass will warm quick.

Thanks hotrodssnova

should I just twist the old ones out like i've read about?
