I know I am going to get slammed but I think the decals are all coming off. We are just to picky to have these decals left on, everyone has scratches and fading.

Any problem i'f i clean my skii one time with hot water and soap after start mounting it? :S why is not good idea in hot water? :)

He meant that the machine I was using was not meant to use hot water. You can use hot water to clean your seadoos.

That ski looks sexy, even without those decals. Are you planning on leaving it without or having Dr. make you new decals?

Are all the stock 787 engines white? and rebuilt engines silver? or did they also come silver off the line?

Someone slapped a 96 787 in this, the counter balancer did not have a fill plug. We do have a 98 spx motor to put into this.

Ok, I think you guys were right. I peeled off the stickers and I probably should not have. Looks like I just commited a seadoo sin. Once the first one came half way off I was already too far in to stop

The good news is that the hull is in great shape and will not need that much buffing

Look what ya did JSG, now your rare, 99spx now looks the same as a 95 xp lol.

Im sure it will look great tho, dont kick yourself too much. We will do that for you haha

Lol. I don't know I almost think the 99 spx is more rare than a 95 xp 800, if not it is close. I can't say I don't like it, because I do. However, as the previous owner did with mine when he stripped and painted it, it takes away the specialness to me. The 95 is a little different because of the extended jet pump, but to me with the 99 spx after the decals are gone, anyone could dress up a X4 to look like this if they wanted to paint the hull. Sorry JSG, but IMO it's just not that special of a ski anymore. I know you will still make it look good though.

We started to prep this to buff. That includes removing everything and taping the bump rails and decals we wanted to save.

So we pull of the handlebar pad and see duct tape and a bunch of rust. We looked at the handlebar bracket and it was really corroded. We decided to replace the whole steering column. We start to take out the bolts and the nuts came right off. We ended up having a problem that the bolts were corroded to the stem and bracket. After alot of hammering and prying the bracket broke and bolts snapped. We then started to remove the hardware for the whole steering system and we then had problems with corrosion. After we ran into that we decided ALL the hardware was coming off and being replaced. We took everything off. Anything that could corrode is removed and we will be replacing it with nice fresh water parts. We are even drilling out the hinge for the hood.

After we did that we took the rest of the parts off and taped everything and remove any adhesive that was left.

This took us quite a while, so we did not get any buffing done. The hull looks great for just a wipe down with a cleaning solvent. When this is buffed out it is going to look great.

Ok now since I have burned up the drill we use to buff with and I will not be able to buff for a couple days until the part comes in, I guess it is time to let you in on a little secret. I guess the fun I was having messing with you guys has got to come to an end.

Look what I happen to have laying around LOL

All oem. Did you guys really think I was going to peel back the the decals on this one without replacements?

That is why there was no way around taking them off and why it had to be done. Lol. I was going to wait until I had them taped to the hull but I do not know how long I will have until installation. We may wait until everything else is done and put them on at the very end so that we do not scratch them.

We only took off the ones we had in hand. The day that these came in I went and started pulling them off. All of the decals are being replaced we found every decal, even the wind deflector and the factory roll over decals, every decal except the emmissions decals.

LOL, JSG set the hook and you took it. Thankfully I had some inside trader information :D . There is no way I would just sit back and let him molest that thing without ripping him up. This ski is going to be out of sight with those decals, I cannot wait to see it finished.

And yes, it will be

At least you used a barbless hook to real us in. You guys are nasty, i honestly thought JSG was loosing it, I'm thinking too much Maquires heavy cut fumes.

Since all of us with the yellow X4's want those decals is there any way to have them scanned and reproduced by a shop that does vinyl wraps before they are installed? Mine is a 1996 that the P.O. installed the 1999 decals on and it looks great but they are in poor shape.

Wow, and I even felt kinda bad for hounding you the other night. I felt bad for that ski too, I actually did a google search to see if miraculously a complete set would show up somewhere LOL. Where in the world did you find those anyways?

Racer, I thought you were being awfully quite on the matter, especially on how adamant you were about not removing them.
