Update, Got the carb off easy as hell, you know after my trip to auto zone to find out that 6mm hex drive is non existent lol... used an hex key wrench 6mm broke 10 fingers but got them off.

now on to removing/replacing fuel lines wont be till Friday until they arrive same with the rebuild kit. so far so good.

One last question my fuel cut off knob (shows gas, off and reserve) does not turn and i do not want to force it. So now im thinking gas is going to spew everywhere... any suggestions on this?

Most people replace that valve to begin with. When the hoses decompose they fill the selector valve with green goop which eventually causes starvation or carb damage. To remove the valve pop the small rubber cover off the outside/center of the knob, remove the small screw & then the larger plastic nut that holds the valve in place. Its like a size 22 or something large like that. Once that's off you can remove the lines from it and slide it out the inside of the ski to inspect or replace.

As for the hex drivers..I just bought a full set of them for like $8 at harbor freight. I love that place

Sears sells the hex drive socket sets in metric I have long and short ball end and regular hex

Well i decided to go ahead and replace the valve, is this another part that i should get OEM or just anything cheap i find on ebay?

hindsight i should have bought some new skis lol the amount of money and replacements i am doing at this point it is pretty much a 2016.

Well here is an update, Carb rebuild kit came in today... Decided to dive into it there is so much "goop" from those grey fuel lines attached to the carb I dont even know if these can be saved at this point. Any suggestions on where to get new carbs, or is this another 300$ out the door?

any suggestions on how to clean out these ports?

I wonder what they could be dunked into a pail and left to soak in overnight or day(s). Atf? Methanol? Wd40? .... Acetone? Varsol? Varsol may be harsh on orings and diaphragm rubbers tho

You know what I don't even think it matters anymore 10 mins in and stripped screw... I am about to douse this thing in gas and burn it. I am already over the cost of a new engine. I am just so effin pissed right now barely any force screw stripped like it was putty

Those are jis screws not standard Phillips. I've stripped a couple using the proper jis screwdriver. A speed out will take it out

I do have this at work. Now I have never done this before but any idea if these sizes will work?20160706_081719.jpg

Looks like my local hardware store has these screws

If all goes well maybe a water test will be in for this weekend.

My rave valves arrived from OSD however they short shipped one..... hopefully the 2nd arrives this week.

Ok update time...

Got the stripped screw out no problem replaced them with the suggested screws.

Now the bad part, the OSD rebuild kit didn't really come with anything. I was able to replace the gaskets under the housings by the needle and seat, the needle and seat and fuel filters as well as the diaphragms... and well that's it all that for $90 nothing else included seemed correct. you would think for 90$ this kit would accommodate the carbs that use the O-rings instead of the gaskets which mine does not. Something i did not know was that mine used the o-rings prior to opening it up. (probably my fault =/)

Ordered the new rave valves, they only shipped one even though the site said several in stock which ok fair enough there are warnings all over the site about inventory and they seem to be shipping one right away, no problem things happen at least they are rectifying the issue. but still the issue existed.

Bought the pop off pressure tester, didnt come with a way to pump air into it... So now i have to go find something that will fit with this gauge to pump the air. Wish i knew that prior to purchasing... =/ Probably should have read the page long description... Now i'm off to find a bike pump

wanted to make them my one stop shop, but really need to find another source. I dont think i will be ordering much of anything from OSD. Well i dont know This ski has gotten me in a bad mood maybe i am being a bit harsh, they seem like good people and a good company. Just for those prices i guess i expected more.

Well looks like i will have to grab a carb rebuild kit off of SBT or somewhere. Since the OSD one did not come with the items i need for a full rebuild. I tried the pressure test with the OSD gauge and well its losing pressure went and bought a $8 pump from walmart and that is probably where it is leaking from but it is impossible to tell. Soon as i remove it all the pressure is released instantly however it did popoff right around 30psi.

Is it worth getting the SBT gauge?

for a bit of peace of mind...

Last place to buy is sbt for carb kits. I'm thinking you ordered the wrong kit from them. Osd clearly states what comes with it and list the other items if you need to add a la carte. I know guy who have bought kits from there multiple times and never needed the extras. I spend a little more and just buy 2 complete kits and n&s from multiple places online. Hang in there.

I am sure it was 100% my fault. Mainly because my lack of knowledge really... the picture attached is what i got what is circled is what i was able to use... The X is what was not actually in the kit.

But either way now the carb wont hold pressure and I don't know if it is because the of the cheap pump or Pop off tester or because it was only half way rebuilt.

So the search for the remaining parts begins or I may have to bite the bullet and spend another $399 on new carbs. :(

But as I stated I may just get new carbs and be done with it. The question is will these even work?

http://osdparts.com/index.php?main_page=product_free_shipping_info&cPath=595_602_1&products_id=75

It mentions I may need a new bracket and some other items to get them to work.

Sorry for the constant post I am really new to all of this.

Take a pic of what you received

I got exactly what was in the pic above, with the exception of what had the X on it. But what is circled is already in the carb. I just need to find the O rings and the clear square diaphragms & what ever other gaskets mine use. I was able to test my pop off tester and there is no leak there So I am certain the leak is within the carb. It did pop off at the right PSI but it will not hold any pressure at all. I am not blaming OSD, and do not expect them to do a return at all. My fault i have to own up to it.

this kit seems to have the extra gaskets i need any idea if this would be ok?
