97 GSX info gauge problem???

Ok, here goes. My nephew bought this ski. Ski starts and runs, but no info gauge. Picked up a gauge from Nick. Install new gauge, still no working gauge. So it may be part of my MPEM is bad. My buddy also has the same ski, we swap out MPEMS, use his DESS key, and get nothing, ski will not even turn over.... Put my MPEM back in, ski turns over.... Am I missing something.....

I believe the 97 gauge has one big multi-plug, vs individual wires, since you have replaced the gauge check the socket that the gauge plugs into. Also make sure you have +12v. purple wire with a yellow tracer, and a ground black wire.
