If hull was full of water. ..definitely check rear ebox(black box) that's where solenoid is located. You can jump it with screwdriver and see if it turns over

You are the man fokker. Ground wire going from e box to battery had detached. She Crunk right up!

And now the clicking is back. Assuming it is the solenoid bc when you arc the two nuts, she turns over. Is there a quick fix for this (a solenoid from a parts store) or do I have to order the original part? Drove all the way to mountains with this xp hoping to ride, really don't wanna have to wait for a part order to come in. Double blah

If that solenoid is bad and all else is good then you can cross it by connecting the two larger top posts with something metal like an old screw driver. Put your key on with the rear black box pulled up and cross it after the "beep beep" it should fire up.

Lol haha I was riding with a buddy the other days when his solenoid decided to take a dump on him. The rest of the day he was starting with a screw driver. Watching a bigger guy trying to balance on an X4 with the seat off in the water trying to jump the solenoid to get it going was quite a sight.

I'm not sure, but there may be a solenoid that will work as a temporary fix at an auto parts store until you can get the correct one

Didn't wanna post a new thread so I'll just keep it on here...my fiance loved riding my xp so I'm trying to surprise her with one of her own. Found this on cl, talked owner down to 300 from 600 and trailer is included. Supposedly ran when parked 2 years ago. Has title, key, etc. Think it's a good pick up? View attachment 25692

The 96 GTI I owned was the best cruiser I've ever been on. It's no speed machine but a great great ski and it has a bullet proof engine

The X4 is one amazing hull, but the Gti will be a nice break from the xp when you just want to cruise around the lake

Does anybody know Where to find a step by step on installing a solenoid for a lawn mower onto Jet ski? The Black wire and yellow wire that plug into the bottom of old solenoid confused me

Old solenoid on right, New on left. And pic of black and yellow plug that went into bottom of old solenoid

Black runs to ground screw...yellow runs to top of ebox. Connector. What does bottom of new solenoid look like?

Don't know if that's going to work because the yellow wire is running to ignition/mpem. Maybe someone else can chime in on this one.

You just need 12V to the switching coil. That looks like it is just a single post so the coil must switch to ground. There is 12v between the yellow and black when you push the button. So try hooking the yellow wire to that small post, and the black, or ground wire to the main mounting frame. Then hit the starter button and it should click. If so, wire the big wires to the big lugs and it should start.

Picking up a 95 xp and a 94 Waverunner plus double trailer for 1200 tomorrow before I head back down to Florida. Seadoo runs with no problems, just a little weathered cosmetically. The yamaha runs and has good compression (supposedly) but has a leaking head. Gonna throw the yamaha on the single trailer I have and a buddy of mine is gonna fix her up and sell her for a tidy profit... Hopefully split the profit and I'll pocket at least 400 bucks. So picking up a 95 xp and double trailer in working order for a total expense of 800 bucks when all is said and done. What do you guys think?

Update on 95 : picked her up today... runs after a little coaxing, definitely needs to be worked on. Main thing I noticed was it was running super rich, with watery oil coming out the exhaust. He was still using the oil injector for it, so I was wondering if I bypassed out and started using pre mix, would this help the problem?

No because it would actually be running richer at all speeds. 40:1 is what you would have to mix it at because that is what it runs at when it is full throttle. So you would be running rich at all speeds other than full throttle
