So 96spxpros. Very glad to hear your test worked! Maybe if you can answer a few questions for me I can get mine to work.
1) Are you putting the entire sensor in the water, or if not how much are you putting in?
2) Are either of your connections under water or getting wet?
3) What are you using to hold on to the sensor? (vicegrips?)
4) Are you connecting an alligator clip to the bottom of the sensor or to the threads?

Actually,
I didn't have any alligator clips. It's really simple. instead of messing with all the ohm measurements and what not, you should have an AUDIBLE button on your multmeter that will ONLY BEEP when theres continuity. you cant mess this setting up, theres only ONE setting to turn your dial to.

Then, put a small pot of water on the stove, get it to a SERIOUS boil, then you can either just hold it in there for about a minute or two with a pair or kitchen tongs or vise grips, just putting the bottom part of the sensor it, right up to the threads. let it sit for a SOLID minute or two. take it out and lay it on a towel and QUICKLY put your red lead firmly to the TOP of sensor where you attach the harness clip, and place the BLACK lead firmly against the threads or even the copper shank where you screw the sensor into the head. it should BEEP the entire time and as the sensor cools off the beep will fade and then stop. that means its WORKING. If you attach the leads before you put it in water and its beeping, that means its bad, and if it NEVER beeps when you test it in water, im guessing its bad too.

under normal operation, itll beep when it reaches the "hot" temp only.
