So, I got a bit screwed on a ski...
More things wrong than right, but nothing I can do now...

So it's being parted out!

Anyone need any parts from a blue 2000 GTX 951?

Mean time, let's all marvel at the genius who DRILLED HOLES in the rear electrical box... No rubber seal, and all parts rusted to hell.

Post up your fix of the year awards before 2014 ends....

Pics or it didn't happen.

We should have an award, kinda like the Darwin Awards, except at least this wasn't fatal. It's like drilling a hole in the bottom of your boat to let the water out.

I didn't take pics, but the previous owner of my SPX did the oil block off by simply cutting the cable to the oil pump.

The xp i had the cone "anti-rattle" device the guy removed or lost it and cut down a 1/4'' socket extension to replace it. Always wondered why the rattle at idle was so loud lol. cant show pics cause i sold it LOL.

Ok I'll play. One of the gtx skis I got looked funny on the nose. I looked closer and found this nice fix that the PO said he had not noticed .... He got the ski from someone else that babied it .....

. Four stainless screws driven right into the open crack! Really waterproof . I got the last laugh. He thought the mpem was blown but it turned out he just had the wrong key. Tonka fixed me up and I got it running. This is the one I am parting out for spare parts for my other skis.

Wow, gotta respect they went the extra mile for stainless!!! :)

When I bought my 96 in 2006 it wouldn't turn right fully. Come to find out, the in the hull fitting for the steering cable was held together with silicone which didn't last long.

This isn't a ski fix but about 17 yrs ago my neighbor threw into his trash several strings of C9 Christmas outdoor lights. Since that was what I use I took them even if just for the bulbs. I looked in the little fuse box in each string ... .instead of the tiny fuse there a wad of tin foil in each box. This guy made 6 figures at Fords and didn't want to spend $4 for a pack of fuses. I took the bulbs and threw the rest in my trash.
