I purchased 07 rxt 215 end of season last year - runs great. When I elevate the front of trailer there appears to be very slow oil leaking into bilge - coming out drains. I really don't notice a difference in oil dip stick measurements. Very small puddle per day (several drops). Any ideas where I should look first?

I've got mine apart and when you remove the driveshaft, and take off the rubber boot with the other bearing in it, you see the seal for the drive shaft is a thin rubber seal that is angled into the motor. If it has any nicks it would leak. Getting the PTO cover off is a pain. I could live with a couple drops for a season. Have a great summer, Tom

Thanks for the info Tom. I looked and could not identify the source. I'll try to get her out a couple of times and guage how quick she's leaking.

The rear oil seal is in the rubber boot attached to the pto cover. You do not need to take the rear pto cover off as that is not where the oil typically leaks.

Take the sc air intake tube off so you have easy access to the driveshaft(just 2 clamps). Fold up a paper towel in your hand and reach under the driveshaft towards the motor. Look for fresh oil on the paper towel.

If it's not there, I'd check the oil cooler area next(saltwater eats the oil coolers), then the front secondary oil pump area. Get everything clean and then take it out for awhile and then use a clean paper towel and look for fresh oil.
