Sudden stoppage on an aluminum engine is very bad. Price in a new engine short block. And anything else. $1,000 to $1,400. Or you could get lucky and nothing much is wrong.

Hopefully the supercharger or motor didn't lock up and the pump was pulled to rule it out as an issue.

ANY water craft that you can NOT ride, drive, and do a compression test, you MUST treat it as though it has a junk engine. If you don't, you will learn why..

This is like hearing, "it just needs a battery" or "it just needs a starter"... In either case, you would not be able to test it and it almost ALWAYS comes with a bad engine...

That's not a 2006 model RXT! That black/green color scheme was for a 2004 RXT only I believe.

2006 RXT's only came in black/red and black/gold color schemes.

A good condition good running low hours (<100) 2004 RXT on a good condition single trailer should still be fetching somewhere around $4500 to $5K from what I've seen.

Actually now that I expanded the picture that's not even an RXT (3-seater) it's an RXP (a 2-seater). Still even the RXP's didn't come in black/green in 2006... I believe it's actually a 2004 RXP.

Regards!

Ha I didn't even notice that!! I think 04-05 came in that color scheme and it is deff an RXP.

Yah apparently the guy doesn't know what the heck he has lol
Thats exactly why I came here to ask questions :) I havent seen this thing in person & thats the only pic I have to go by..
Thanks guys !
So the real question whats it worth, as it sits on the dual trailer..?
Just the cost of the trailer which is $500ish..?

I buy non-running RXPs in good condition for $1000. Trailer is $500, so I'd pay $1500. They made green in 04 and 05. However, I do this all the time so I know what I'm doing and if you are not experienced at 4tec engine rebuilding it may not be for you. If you pay someone to fix you could be upside down really easily.

Well, have you determined what year it is?

Well the guy wants a grand I wont pay anyone to fix it I'll do my research & learn myself I never pay anyone to fix anything I own & have done a lot to all my vehicles myself.
If its green then I guess its a 04-05 as mentioned above. ?
I'm sure I can haggle the guy down some as well...

1,000 is very reasonable. hard to walk away from that.
If it was local for 1,000, it would be parked in my back yard right now

Thanks for editing my post CoastieJoe ;) I knew as I typed I should have changed it hehe
Thanks Guys !
I'ma go take a look at it he says the motor was serviced every time @ the dealer & ran strong before it sucked plastic & a rock thru impeller which over heated the SC & obviously wrecked the pump & everything in it.
He's got the SC rebuild kit & all new parts to get it going again.
Oh & its a 05 I talked to him yesterday

The price sounds right to me you could sell the trailer and part the RXP out and get most if not all your money back out of it pretty easily... but I have 1 concern about something else I see in that pic of it: White stuff all over the sponsons and stern of the RXP makes me wonder if it had sat docked in salt water frequently or for long periods of time?

It sure looks like it sat in water a lot; I'm only guessing it may have been salt water. If when you go look at it there is a lot of corrosion on the pump drive shaft I think that would be a real tell-tale that it was in salt water often and may not be worth the hassle of messing with it now.

If it was in salt water a lot and neglected, just about everything will get eaten up with corrosion from the pump drive shaft to the wiring harness eventually. PWC's used in salt water require a lot more maintenance than fresh water PWC's do... and that one doesn't look like it was well cared for, IMHO.

Finally, if the trailer was ever dipped in salt water (galvanized though it is) to launch/retrieve a PWC it will suffer corrosion if it wasn't rinsed off with fresh water and sprayed with a corrosion preventative (and I see what looks like a steel U-bolt just behind the trailer fender that looks seriously rusted in that pic)... so again, it may not be worth even hooking the trailer up to a tow vehicle if it was used in salt water and not taken very good care of. Just saying...

Good luck.

Which kit does he have? be sure to check that before installing.

He took it in to the dealer to get it fixed got all the right parts for it decided to fix it himself but thats where it ended he just had no time & lost interest & now he's moved & got nowhere to park it so he's gotta sell..
The dealer actually offered him 2g for it & he turned it down.
