CoastieJoe,

Being able to bend 4" aluminum in the shape sorta like what I got would be pretty sweet. Thing is though.....space is very tight around the sc.

Matt,

Thanks for the instructional email and I got a stainless pipe for the free flow exhaust and installed it this weekend. It sounds great!! Now I just have to figure out what I want to do with the air intake. I do know I want the rear intake system and think I would like to go with a carbon fiber pipe and elbow with a screen at the top. What do ya'll think of that?

I installed everything last night and it looks great and sounds great.. Garret, I used actually a how to I found to install everything.. Ill send you the link through your email...

Also you can get the stainless steel pipe off eBay.. Just make sure you get stainless if your going to be riding in salt water

Like kk said in his video 90degree mandrel bend and at least 5 and 12 inches on either side

KK,

So all the talk about the RPM's and allowing the SC to give more power, reducing wear on SC and extending the life of the SC isn't true. If so, I'm not going to spend the money for one :) Thanks!

-Garrett

They are completely useless other than the cool sound.

According to Jerry they actually do more damage then good... They're nothing but a boost leak and on a sc that's running only 7-8 lbs stock boost if you loose 2-3 lbs from a leak its not really that effective.. It will actually make your clutches wear FASTER then without a bov

And sorry kk I kinda stole your answer haha

No apology needed. More info in your reply than I would've contributed. But yes you are correct. On something that makes so little boost they are useless. On turbo applications it helps but not so much with gear or belt driven superchargers.

KK/Matt,

Just to confirm, you guys are saying that even with the upgraded 255hp SC it's not worth the money or in Matt's quote "It will actually make your clutches wear FASTER then without a bov"? So, I suppose the best thing is to go with the rear intake and be done with it, right?

Correct.. The bov will be more damage then it's worth a nice 4 inch intake will wake up the ski well especially if you want a nice "whine" in the super charger

Because I really want to do the rear intake but, I wanted the sound (whine) of the bov as well......

So Matt, the 4" intake will not only wake the seadoo up but, it'll give me the "whine" as you say as well?

With a 4 inch rear intake you'll hear the whine of the supercharger under load a little bit louder your not going to hear the "pssshhhh" you don't even hear that with a blow off valve... You'll slightly hear it but not anything to get excited over

Got it.....no bov for me.....I'll just go for the 4" rear intake. As always, thanks for the information and help!!!

Ok Guys, I got the rear air intake system today and hope to install it tonight. I will post pics when finished. Question....With the rear intake, what's the best way to get cool air in? I've heard people modifying the rear seat, etc. but, would like to know what ya'll think and see some pics if possible.

Thanks,
Garrett

i really dunno man.. dont want you to think im ignoring you i just dont know much about the rear intake, haha.

did you get it installed last night?? pics??

you may want to reconsider venting the rear seat if you ride in choppy water.

I've been running rear air for a coupla 3 years now. Never ingested water. I run SML 99% of the time...rarely seeing calm water. Tonight I had her out on the water for the first time all year...very late for me. I ran through a driving thunderstorm 5-7 miles to beat the dark.

no probs.

I don't roll my ski...I don't allow noobs to drive it...I don't stick the tail offa big jumps. I run hard...through some pretty rough chop...washing machine kinda looking stuff...never a prob.

Vented rear seats ain't for everyone...rear air ain't for everyone. Most opt for a 4" front and enjoy themselves a bit more out on the water.

To each their own.

Hey Matt,

Sorry for the late response and no I haven't gotten the rear intake installed yet. It seems to be a little harder than I had expected. I ordered my parts from siliconeintakes.com. The problem I see is the amount of room around the SC. The biggest problem is the hose coming from the muffler that loops up and around over to the resinator ( I took the resinator out and ran the ST free flow exhaust). That hose is in the way and to get the room it looks like I need to do the rear exhaust exit but, I'm not sure. That's why I'd like to see some pics from some of you guys to see how ya'll did it.

Red,

Can you send me some pics of your rear air intake? I'd like to see how you installed it.

Thanks,
Garrett

Yes I see that now Red :) In the pic I still can't see how our muffler hose that loops from the muffler over to the resinator is done. Do you have the rear exhaust exit? It is very tight around the SC and I'm trying to figure out how the easiest way to install the rear air intake. Can you send me some close up pics of that area? Thanks!

Check post #48 in this thread....heh

Red,

I see you are VaRedneck on the Greenhulk site and you too got your components for the rear air intake from siliconeintakes.com...... I didn't see the connecter in your pic that comes from the SC on the silicone site. Where did that black hose come from?

Thanks,
G

I have a diy free-flow exhaust. That hose that comes from the oem water box is still in the stock location....and my air doesn't touch it....or anything else on the way through the rear bucket.
