Thanks for the information Red. I spent all night working with this air intake and finally think I've got it the way I want it. I'll post some pictures of it tomorrow.

I have a diy free-flow exhaust. That hose that comes from the oem water box is still in the stock location....and my air doesn't touch it....or anything else on the way through the rear bucket.

Ah....the 3"x 4" 45* reducing bend....hmm......lemme look around...coulda swore I got it there...maybe not....lemme check.

yeah...it was there...

Nuthin says you can't shorten the ends of this stuff as needed.

I got everything together and she runs great......Thanks for all you guys help!

Guys,

I have a 2005 Seadoo RXT (215hp) that the engine blew at 77 hrs. last summer. Since then I have gotten a new engine and did a couple upgrades below. Tell me what you think about them and what else could I add?

New Seadoo Engine
Upgraded 255hp Supercharger
42lb Bosch Fuel Injectors
R&D Aquavein Intake Grate

Thanks,
Garrett

im a bit confused now.... did you originally have a 215 and you upgraded the supercharger ?... the sticker on the side of your ski says 255..

but anywhoooo... looks like we taught ya well haha... looks great dude !! hows it sound?

Love the seat color on that ski. I thought Black looked good...like the grey better. How'd you vent the seat?

But if it was me...I'd take that 255 sticker off. Gotta love the a sleeper and the looks a new ski driver gives you as you walk him over 70....heh.

Yes Matt, is was originally a 215 and I upgraded the SC along with all the other upgrades as well. Again, thanks for all your help and it sounds great....lol.....at 3000-3500RPMs, kinda like a V8 boat....woohoo!!

Thanks for the compliment Red, I too like the grey seat. It's not as hot as the original burgundy one. I drilled some holes up under the back seat to vent. I'll get some pics of that and post as well. Yeah, I thought about leaving the sticker as 215 but, both side stickers were scratched up so I just had (2) 255's made. I ride with as couple 255's and I'm out in front of them :)

I had a snowmobile that was a 1970. However, it had a professional race engine in it called a "Liquidfirer". It would scream. Ski looked old but nothing ever beat me.

That thing was a super Sleeper. It was a ball.

Be carefull to get all the shavings outa the seats' frame. That screen is only so tight. Also...do some math. The sc opening = the area of a 3" circle....pi r squared? can't remember...anyway...you want your vent holes total area bigger than that sc opening area, if you can...otherwise you'll be restricted and won't be getting the full advantage of a rear air.

What kinda numbers are you seeing?....r's...mph....gps?

Red,

Right now I'm still breaking the engine in (have 7hrs. on new engine) but, I've seen 8050rpms, 70mph on speedo and 72 on GPS. I'm hoping as the engine gets good and broken in, I'll begin to see a little more rpm and mph.

Your right where you should be on your rpms... The limiter is set to 8100 so you want to be a little off it... I don't know how much more speed you will see without changing the prop

What pitch impeller are you running?

Yea and since you have the X charger you can upgrade the wheel on that. Now keep in mind that any other mods will require bigger injectors and/or rising rate fuel pressure regulator. From there you need other stuff like valvetrain and custom tuned ECU. That's where it gets really expensive.

Really adding an external intercooler will require injectors since you upgraded the supercharger. I haven't gone through the whole thread to see if you've done that, but just a heads up. You'll definitely see a performance gain, however, by adding the external intercooler. I recommend the Fizzle ™ High Efficiency Intercooler Kit. They are now powder coated so there is more durability and they cost less than say Riva's.

Joe,

To save you some time going through the thread, I have upgraded to the 42lb injectors. Let's say I was to add the Fizzle HE Intercooler kit.......Are you saying I would need to up the injectors again, I guess to the 50lb injectors?

Joe,

I just looked at the Fizzle Intercooler and saw gains of 2-3mph and 200-300rpms. Now, I'm at or around 8000rpms WOT now, so adding another 200-300rpms would put me over the 8100rpm limiter right? How's that gonna work?

You may not need to up the injectors again. You will need a RRFPR though. If you upgrade the X charger with say a XX charger or a ET 137 then you will need bigger injectors also.

In theory you are correct. Easy fix is to upgrade impeller to a 15/20 which will kill some RPM but the external intercooler will help you gain them back. Or get a ECU with a higher limiter but that will require upgraded valve train.

It's a vicious slippery slope my friend.

Yes KK you are correct (vicious slippery slope) however, what would be the cheaper route....getting a higher limiter ECU (like which one) or doing like a VTech tune on the factory ECU? All for a couple MPHs.....I'm not sure it's worth the money but, your input is much appreciated.

Thanks,
G

i before dumping bookoo bucks on a vtech or an ecu... spend the cash and upgrade the wheel in the supercharger.. go for the ET137 wheel you can get from the sites performance store...your easily looking at another 3-4 lbs of boost just from the wheel alone

when you rebuilt the motor did you use stock valves?? if so the 06 and older valves are notoriously weak so raising the limiter could potentially do more damage then its worth

I would just do a new impleller first. If after you're still on the limiter then worry about the ECU.

Matt,

The motor isn't a rebuilt motor but, a new motor from Seadoo so I have no idea about the valves. I would suppose they are stock but, hopefully they are upgraded from the older ones......
