Guys,

I have a 2005 Seadoo RXT (215hp) that the engine blew at 77 hrs. last summer. Since then I have gotten a new engine and did a couple upgrades below. Tell me what you think about them and what else could I add?

New Seadoo Engine
Upgraded 255hp Supercharger
42lb Bosch Fuel Injectors
R&D Aquavein Intake Grate

Thanks,
Garrett

I would change the impeller as well. With the other items you added, the impeller will increase your performance..

Ok, so I had a brain lapse........ I actually upgraded to the 42lb injectors instead of 40lb and I also upgraded to a Solas 14/19 impeller as well (how could I have forgotten that) :) So KK, you say I need to add the 4" air intake.....what will that give me?

Thanks, G

That will allow that upgraded supercharger to breathe easier. In turn you will pick up more rpm on top which equals higher top speed.

I made my own 4 inch intake out of kanaflex hose and a filter.. I hear of a ton of guys doing it them selfs to save some cash...

.... Also maybe fill the ride plate holes.. That's good for 1-2 mph

This! I can't believe I forgot about the ride plate holes. They make a huge difference. It's a pain in the butt to do but the gain is worth it.

BTW what did you use to fill yours?? i used the right stuff like jerry suggested wayyy back in the day.. i guess the go-to stuff is now water weld?? lol

Yes water weld it was. Have fun sanding that down, that's all I gotta tell ya especially if you do it by hand. Ouch.

Yea you know what sucks even more? The bracket on my trailer holding up the winch broke. I ordered a new one and it'll take 2 weeks to get it. I hate my life right now. Working ski but can't get it to the lake lol.

Matty,
When you say fill the ride plate holes, what do you mean? Can you show me in a picture? Also, is there a thread/instructions somewhere to show me how to make my own 4" intake? Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help!!

i dont have any pictures of the process but.. if i happen to replace the plugs in my ride plate ill take a few and show you...

its an ol' trick used for ages thats pretty much guarenteed 1-2 mph gain top end.. what you do is..

theres 6 holes on the bottom of the ride plate where the mounting screws are,

**FIRST TRY TO TIGHTEN THE BOLTS DOWN AS SOME MIGHT BE A LITTLE BIT LOOSE**

take a piece of rope and wrap it around the head of the bolt

then take a piece of duct tape and cover the head of the bolt...( these first three steps ensure that if you have to get to the bolts you can without damaging the bolt.)

next fill with Water Weld and smooth flat.

once dry (24 hours) if its not completely flat then sand lightly ONLY SAND FORWARD AND BACK NOT SIDE TO SIDE.

then take it out and enjoy your new top speed.

........ill be going back to get my ski today ill take pictures of the finished product

aint nuttin a little rope and duct tape cant fix !! hahah.. that sucks man. good thing its not summer yet. should be 70 here today, should be getting my ski back as soon as service opens..hopefully

Cool, that'd be awesome to see the finished product. Sorry to sound so dumb but, do you let the string hang out of the weld or what is the string for?

Thanks!

No you just wrap it around the head of the bolt... It's a little annoying but it takes a couple seconds.. It's used to make sure the sides of the bolts are safe and okay and water weld doesn't fill in the side of the bolt and the same with the duct tape.. Used to make sure the water weld doesn't contact the bolt.. Your kind of boxing the bolt off completely from the water weld..

Just incase if you have to get to the bolt in the future, all you have to do is chisel away without fear of damaging the bolt

Gotcha....Thanks for the information. I'll start working on that when I get home today. Now, back to the homemade 4" Intake.....you got any instructions or can you point me to instructions on making my own? :) Thanks again and it's nice to talk to someone who knows what's going on!!

I'll post a picture of mine a little later today. It's a simple 90* bend off the SC and points up at an angle to wards the seat

You have the rear loader intake? I have the one that goes to the front of the sk with the 7 foot of kanaflex hose, how do you like the rear?

It was easier and more cost effective. It still sucks hot air from inside the hull unless you drill some holes in your rear seat to vent it. I haven't done that yet.
