2005 RXT check engine light

I have a 2005 RXT SC sea doo with 120 hours. First time on the lake this year. Had it services (oil and spark plugs after winterization) and new battery. Runns great for 5-10 minutes then the check enigine light comes on and the SC cuts out. It runs rough with no SC. Sat idlen for 2 hours and then did the same thing.

Any thoughts? I checked oil and it is 1/2 to 3/4 cold. No water in engine compartment

What do you mean by this sentence? 1/2 to 3/4 what? Over full, under full? Or the engine temp is warm (meaning not full operating temp)?

I checked the oil when i got back to the house and it was 1/2-3/4 full up the dip stick. The engine was cold to warm (only ran for 10 minutes before we brought it in

Pull the spark plugs and have a look at them. Make sure the gap on the plugs are between .028 and .030. New spark plugs can be bad. Switch out the spark plugs one at a time with an old spark plugs that you know that worked. Next, old fuel. Put in some fresh fuel with stabilizer.

Then move on to possible leaking intercooler. Water in the engines intake. If it froze...... Do the simple and cheap first.

What do you mean..."the sc cuts out"?

And....after the sc "cut out"...you sat and idled for 2hrs?

Shaking my head here....how about some history on this ski...you original owner?...sc has been rebuilt w/ '08+ parts at least once in the last 9yrs...right?

I am the second owner, bought 4 yrs ago with 25hrs. The SC was rebuilt 2 yrs ago by mechanic (not me ). I put it in the water for the first time this year, fresh gas added to tank 92 octane ( about 2 gallons of last years gas and stabillizaer) it ran for about 5-10 minutes then the chk eng light came on beeped and the SC kicked off (top speed 45 and ran rough). I took it to the beach and tied itnupnforn2 hours without running it. Then took it backmto boat launch and it ran fine SC pullingnhard top speed 71. 5-10 minutes of operation and the chk eng game on beeped and the SC would not enage. Used the learner key and puttered back to boat luanch

You might have to hook up a pressure gauge to check your oil pressure. Your seadoo maybe going into Limp mode. Do you know what oil was used. Some oils get push through the engine easier, so at lower pressures. You low oil pressure sensor is set at 26 to 32 psi. Also, this sensor can go bad.

You can check the SC by taking off the hose and see if you can turn it with your finger.
