2010 gtx sc slow crank ringing sound

New starter/starter solenoid, new battery, it had been running fine for 2 weeks, it did always seem to turn over slowly, but it would start within 2 seconds. Then the other morning I tried starting it, got the 2 beeps, when I hit start it flashed limp home mode then screen went blank, no click, no crank. Replaced the battery at the dock, same thing. I towed it to the ramp at idle speed, no clamp about 15 minute ride.

I replaced the solenoid and that got it to turn over but was slow with the ringing sound. I replaced the starter, same thing. I have cleaned the connections. I pulled the pump and it spins freely, I tried turning the driveshaft by hand (no wrench, no plugs) and I could not get it to turn. I did find about a cups worth of water in the muffler, and after doing some more research I think I had too much oil in it (it was right at the top line when cold) So I drained all of that and refilled to in between the marks.

When starting with the plugs removed there has been no liquids spraying out, I did have clean rags in the holes which would be shot out when cranking. The test without the plugs was done with wot. It did get rained on a few days before it died, I didn't think about it until I got back to the dock after pulling the kids on a tube for about 30 minutes. I opened it up and sucked out maybe 2 gallons of water from the hull, but it did run for a few days after that.

So my next steps were going to be taking the hose off the sc and trying to turn it with a wrench, assuming it turned I was going to start replacing pos/neg wires, but the ringing has got me worried. BTW it is an iS and I have opened it and closed it up so many times recently which is a pain, I wanted to get some more knowledgeable suggestions before I get back in there.

It seems to turn over fine with the plugs removed, but with the plugs in it is slow and there is a very noticeable ringing sound.

Sounds like a weak battery. Are you sure it is completely charged?
What brand battery and how many AH or CCA?
Are all battery connections all the way to the starter and engine ground clean and tight?

Battery is charged to 13v, on load it only drops down to 11v. It is a Super Start 400CCA. I have checked and cleaned the battery connections.

Something is dragging the system down which is the ringing sound as in a bad bearing in the supercharger or bad bearing in the motor.

Did it have a slight bit of play back and forth? That is the key. If it doesn't have that play then it is locked up and most likely your problem.

No play at all, and not sure if it means anything but the pic is what was on the inside of both the hoses attached to the sc, but there wasn't any up at the intake end of the hose. So does that mean I am taking the sc off and having someone fix it for me? I am pretty handy with a wrench, but from what I have read it is a very precise repair, and if not done just right it can cause a whole lot of damage. Once I have it off what should I look for in the engine to see if there is any other damage?

That looks like aluminum dust which means your bearings have failed and the impeller probably has touched off on the housing. The bad news is that the entire sc will most likely need replaced, not just rebuilt. Depending on the damage and if any of the sc fragments got left behind, the engine may need to come out for a thorough cleaning. The good news is that looks like your problem and the engine itself is probably fine.

Simple to pull the sc and inspect.

Is there a good alternative to the torx wrench they say to use to get that upper retaining screw out? I am having a hard time with that one. I don't mind getting the tool but it wouldn't get to me before I go home in a couple days. And speaking of going home, how do I winterize a ski that not only doesn't start, but probably shouldn't even be cranked? BTW thank you for all the help!

An 8mm wrench will work if you are careful and put a little back force on it to break it loose.
how do I winterize a ski that not only doesn't start,
You can pump a gallon of antifreeze through the flush port using garden hose pressure but make sure you don't put more water through it. Then you can spray fogging oil in the injector ports and it will be good enough for winter.
.

So, supercharger is out, and it spins just fine.

Should there be screws in these 3 holes? I can see threads in there.

Ok, so I got the supercharger out and it spins freely and very smooth. When I pulled it out I heard something fall into the bilge and found this bolt. I'm assuming it was sitting somewhere hidden on top of the sc and just fell down when I pulled it, but it did have some of that silver dust on it. Should I still open the sc to check inside even though it seems to spin fine? And if that is not what was causing the ringing and slow turn over, what would be my next step? Can I try turning it over manually with the sc out? I've read that it can be done via the fly wheel, or PTO, but I haven't been able to figure that one out yet. I did have the jet pump out and that spun fine, so I guess I'm down to the engine or drive shaft.

You can crank it over with the sc out. Put a piece of tape over the hole so it doesn't shoot oil everywhere. If it still sounds the same as before, next thing to check is the starter itself. They can sound grindy when they are on their way out and turn at a slower speed. To turn over by hand, the easiest way is to put a socket on the end of the driveshaft with a ratchet. It take quite a bit of force to turn it over.

What size is the bolt? There aren't many bolts like that on the engine itself as everything is mostly torx.

It is a 10mm bolt, I didn't have time to try and turn it over but I did put the gal of pink stuff into it using a submersible pump. Some came out the back end so I assume it got through the system. While I was fogging the cylinders I checked out the inside using an endoscope camera and took some pics. On cylinder1 I did my best to get whatever it is on camera, but I just couldn't get the camera in the right position.
