The title says it all. Near perfect machine with 57 hours on the clock and no codes on the display. Starts and runs just fine but confirmed that it is slow with an actual GPS unit yesterday. Tried the learning key and it is even slower. Thoughts?

I had this identical issue on the exact same model a couple of years ago. I'm no mechanic by any means, but this is my understanding of what my issue was: the OPAS system raises and lowers the fins out of the water when you steer. My fins were stuck in hte down position, which created unnecessary drag on hte boat. Fix the fins and you could/should be back in action.

Good Luck

Thanks. I will check that out. A friend of mine said that I should also look into the wear ring/impeller and make sure all is well there. I wouldn't think the wear ring would be shot with this few hours but you never know.

well

if your RPM is that high, and MPH that low, your engine is most likely ok (that's a good thing).

I'd look over the impeller for knicks, parts missing, etc, and the wear ring... or you could have sucked up a rock or sea-weed...

Thanks. It definitely seems as though something is out of sorts toward the rear of the boat vs. under the seat. I will check it out.

Wear Ring

Sounds like a wear ring to me. Visually inspect the wear ring see if any pieces are missing. Check the clearance between the wear ring and the impeller should be no more than .040".

You can also check the impeller for any nicks or dings. It could be the carbon ring but its more likely the wear ring.

The wear ring is fairly inexpensive, $35.00 to $40.00 and easy to replace yourself.
