Recent brought it to a mechanic who did some engine work for me, ran solid after a break in period for about 2 months and started overheating one day. Had to limp it quite a ways back home and she was losing power the whole time.

I have a picture to help describe what Ive found, I found some Styrofoam in the lines shown. The green arrow is the syrofoam (there were small pieces in the hull for some reason) the red arrow shows where the line to the right plugs in, there was a 90° elbow like the one above it. I don't think the blue circled end was connected to anything and I can't seem to find a diagram I can understand. Any help on whether or not this may cause the overheating issue would be greatly appreciated.

Those are the bailers, basically your bilge pump.
They have nothing to do with cooling or overheating.
