2001 gtx(carb) and 01 gtx DI hull swaping

Ok here is what I got, two GTX's one both 01 models one is carb(red one) and one is fuel inject (blue one). the hull has major damage on my DI model and the Carb model has major engine issues, I want to take all swap motors and make one good ski. Is this do able? Swaping everything else fuel tank, exhaust, electrical not an issue if needed, im parting out the blue skis hull, seat, steering ext.... Has any one done this before, and again can it be done with little pain? thanks

this shouldn't be that hard, the DI has a few more parts, but you have them all there.

The oil tank and fuel tank are identical, as is the reverse, and steering, etc.

I'd have loved to buy some of the 01 carb engine parts off you, but I already got what I needed a few weeks ago...

as long as the 01 GTX DI is a 951, I see no issues with this swap. You'll have a '01 red with a DI engine.

you will have to swap the MPEM, possibly the gauges, the engine (duh), but I think that's it...

I see no reason this wont go right in...make sure you align the motor correctly.

The gas Tanks are the same size but not the same tank... You may have a problem with the vac pump at the rear of the hull.. Check all your in & outs around the pump...

HINT: Don't sell anything til you are done and running...

Good point bro...the tanks need to be swapped for sure.

Yea I pretty much figured fuel tanks would have to be changed, no big deal... I plan on taking everthing minus the jet pump out and swaping them. Figure this not to take much more than about two good nites in the garrage. Will post pics and update how progress goes and lessons learned. the more I think about it i might just rebuild the Carb model as time and funds permits and put back into the blue skis (DI) models hull.

Yea; I was thinking that as well! the carb ski's are simpler... the DI is nice long as it's working 100%.

I thought the blue ski had the hull damage? Do you mean repair the carb one in the red hull?
