Not run since 2007
Installed new batt, no beep when lanyard attached.
Able to crank when jumping solonoid.
Lanyard has cylinder on it. Do I need something programed to get unit to run?

You don't have any power... so it's not just a lanyard issue.

Check all the fuses, and verify that the battery is OK. I know you said it's new... but if it's been on the shelf for a while, it may not have enough charge to bring the system to life.

By any chance... did you hook it up backwards? If you did... you could have roasted the MPEM.

Batt new and tested
Fuses all check (one in coil box, others at computer)
When I recieved, coil box disconected ,reinstalled
Computer unplugged, checked plugs and reconnected
Battery dead and empty, removed a installed new
gel
Went to dealer 2007 running but surging.
Pulled from dealer by owner when told head was scored.
No head damage found by my scope.
Did find air getting into fuellines multiple locations which would cause surging.
Battery not in backwards.

Sorry to say its looking like it is the mpem.. You did say it sat for some time.. Does it smell or look like and animals where living in it??

I just sold my last GTX mpem that fits that ski.. My brother may have something for you.. Minnetonka4me

No animals. Unit was wrapped and sealed in a garage when I was contacted.
Thankyou both.
The computer was my thought as well.
What would cause this, just time?

Nope... time won't hurt the MPEM. the only thing that would hurt it would be reverse power, or something shorted it. My thoughts are it was done buy the not so honest dealer.

Thanks,
That place has been out of business for a while now.
Any knowledge of reputiple dealers or repair facilities near Boston Ma.?
I have been working on cars, trucks, boats and heavy equipment fo 30 years.
So much for my first foray into jetskis. :)

yes time doesn't blow mpem, but people that think they want to take it to the lake(friend, kids, him) like to jump start old batteries thru out the 7 years of hot summers... plus no power to gauges with key or no key and able to jump solonoid.

Found out that bilge pump wiring is needed for proper function, maybe?

Found stretched and broken wire to bilge pump.
Repaired, got my gauges and 2 beeps.
Disconnected and got no gauges, no beeps.

Reconnected, got gauges, 2 beeps. Have crank, have spark.
Just no fuel to engine.

Have you done anything about cleaning out the fuel system, rebuilding carbs. changing fuel lines? Even if the grey tempo fuel lines have been replaced five years is a long time to sit.

Lou
