2001 GTX RFI Rave solenoid hose routing, and a beep after engine swap

. I did an engine swap on a 2001 GTX RFI. Starts up great but then there is a long continuous beep and MAINT flashes. I am not sure if the beep would go off after time because it's extremely loud and I have neighbors. I found a hose under the area of the rave valves coming from the check valve tee from the rave solenoid (see attached photos) I can see it had a tie/clamp indent, so it must of connected somewhere but I cannot not find where it goes. Can you help me out where to look? The shop manual doesn't show the tee at the check valve it just shows a check valve hose going to the crank case. Most posts are for carbureted engines; being a RFI no carb. Any help with hose or beep is greatly appreciated!

Near the PTO Carb there is a port on the engine block. The line should have a check valve in it and NOT the type like the one I'm seeing in the picture. If you do not have that line connected to the cylinder block the ski will run lean and that may give you a maint light... maybe. Your raves also will not open properly. I can't tell exactly from your pictures where the line is coming from.

I can offer this picture from a GTI RFI. That is the line that goes to the rave and the check valve is in place. It takes a bit of suction to get the check to let the air through.

Thank you for the information. one of the lines that tees off the check valve is attached on engine. I will follow it with a scope camera and see where it goes and if a check valve is there. However, the GTX RFI does not have a carburetor.

I am still at a loss where the hose goes that comes directly off the check valve in photo. I still cant find any diagrams that show it but I can tell its been clamped/zip tied somewhere before. Thanks again.

LOL, yea insert "throttle body" where I said carb. :D

That picture you took of the Rave solenoid looks a little bit like the set up that is on the 951 DI.

Thank you! I will self proclaim myself an idiot. You are right it is a GXR DI. I did not look close at the decal.

The manual does indicate that hose goes to the counter balance shaft reservoir. In fact I am wondering if my buddy even put oil in it when the swap was done. I was able to locate the plug/hose nipple however from reading and looking seems like a big headache and hard to get to. One article I read said removing the exhaust pipe helps. Any insight on that? I would rather take more time if needed than fight the limited space, knuckle bang and curse.

You might be able to get to it sufficiently with the pipe in place but it won't be easy. If you do choose to remove the exhaust pipe, don't separate the pipe. Just remove it at the exhaust manifold and the hose clamp. Warning... the exhaust manifold flange might be bad and if you separate it you'll have to deal with that ( The aluminium breaks and no long holds the gasket in place. It is a pitiful design.) I know an engine shop that uses a heavier oil the recommended in the counterbalance reservior. Good Luck !!

I'm also wondering about the Rave solenoid you have in place and IF it is the correct one. You see the one I posted a picture of is "Green" The green ones are much more expensive. I tried using the black one and it decided to replace with the green and had no more issues. I don't know what the difference is between the 2 but am still curious about it. Good Luck !
