hi, i am new hear to the jetski world. I just picked up a 95 spx and got it running. It is the 657x motor. I cannot figure out why the vts won't work. Not sure how to diagnose it either.
When the button on the handle bar is engaged, no noise or any type of clicking occurs. It is like the button goes to nothing.
Also, the nozzle in the rear moves freely and naturally just pushes up from the water pressure.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly approved!
Thnak you all.

Welcome We are glad to read your post.

1st step is to obtain a '95spx shop manual and read it cover to cover and compare your pictures, and use the lower "similiar threads" on this page lower information to become more familiar. The 7.5 amp fuse in the separate holder is located inside your grey E-box next to the gas tank. It is secured into a "floor Shoe" and is released by pulling rearward on the shoe TAB, then lifting and pulling the box back and out
of the slide lock undernieth the box front. Like pulling your foot out of your shoe. Next riggle and pull gently until you can get the box to sit on the Magnito Houseing where you can separate the two halves and examine the interior contents. The Pictoralized Shop Manual comes in handy now, or you can go to the top right of this forum to PARTS, and browse Seadoowarehouse microphishe, get an idea of what ski components look like and what new parts cost.
You could unplug the VTS motor from the harness, and apply 12v directly. Again, you will find ALL diagnostic information in your manual.

so i checked the fuses in the ebox. I only found 2 fuses, none of which were a 7.5. Although out of the 3 there, none of them were blown. Am i missing a fuse somewhere?

also the shop manual says a 15s fuse, and the 15 amp fuse is good inside of my ebox.

Do i try to test the motor next?

Sorry for the slow reply and update on here, been very busy with work and haven't had time to mess around with the ski. On the next non rainy day i am going to test out the motor. Will update back here when i do. Thanks guys!

Your '95 e-box has the vts control module in the cover side, my mistake. http://fiche.seadoowarehouse.com/se...ype=13&make=seadoopwc&A=218&B=12&modelid=1995 Sea Doo PWC SPX ELECTRICAL BOX

Yes - apply 12v, it should turn. reverse the 12v wires, the motor should turn opposite direction.

hook the vts motor to a direct 12v supply. Motor ran one way so i switched polarities and it ran the other way. Does that lead me to a faulty button?

Its a 15 amp fuse not a 7.5. The actual motor is on the left side. Its attached to the trim position thing. It has a cable going to the back. You will hear a slight clicking when vts button is pressed. Press the start stop button. Itll turn the controls on for 30 seconds. Then press the vts buttons. listen carefully for the clicking sound.
