Bought this natural aspirated ski knowing it had water in oil. Got it home and compression check was 50-90-100 front to rear. Did not doa leak down test. I’m more of a 2 stroke guy but ok this one apart anyway. Valves look like they close all the way but can see where water was sitting in the intake chamber. Water was also full in intake manifold. When I checked compression it didn’t crank over real well. Pistons and cylinder walls look good. Can I get by with replacing just head gasket? To me the gasket looked bad with all of the peeling it had

Hello looks like you should do a valve job. Have the head milled a bit. Looks like the shining spots where the gasket was leaking between the cylinders.
regards

If those were accurate compression numbers then you have bigger problems than a head gasket replacement, start by taking the head in for valve work as the seat are probably damaged. You could also have bad rings due to the water, you might want to tear down the engine or get a new one from SBT. What type of machine is this engine in ? How many hours on it? You definitely need to fix the water issue also.
