xps-2 this year is a different color from last year??

I bought xps-2 oil last year on Amazon and used it last year with no problems. So I purchased another gallon from Amazon last month. My purchase history says they were both the same. Both tanks on my ski's were half full. I filled them both but noticed that this years oil was red. The other oil looked a little more brown.
So the first trip to the lake today both ski's would not run out at all, idle ok but acting like they have bad fuel. They sat all winter in my garage with half full gas tanks- treated with stabil. Filled up with fresh fuel on the way to the lake.
So now I'm wondering- do I have bad gas or did I screw up mixing the oils?\

They both said they were xps-2 This years says its full synthetic, I don't have last years container still but Amazon said it was xps-2 (could it have been mineral?) About 10 minutes of trying to run them. Could I have screwed up here?

Yep, BRP changed suppliers a couple of years ago from Castrol a golden brown color, to Red Line which is dyed red. I changed over a couple of years ago with no problems. You didn't specify what ski you have so I am assuming you're using full synthetic. Most guys put their ski(s) and their location in their profile. In my experience BRP's oils mix fine.

So I'm noticing xps-2 was sold as both mineral or synthetic. If I had mineral in it and mixed some synthetic with it will that be a problem?

You couldve bought some of the old stock XPS 2 which had a brown tinge to it when it was made by Castrol. Like LouDoo said, they switched manufacturers from Castrol to RedLine. I know the XPS 2 I purchased/used last year was red. Could you possibly have used the XPS2 mineral oil last year? The mineral oil is in a white jug, the syn is in a yellow jug.

I don't think they are compatible. Drain and refill with the syn.

Not a problem, Seadoo oils are compatible, however when changing I would drain or run out most of the mineral oil, then add the synthetic.

They switched from golden brown to red, around 2 years ago actually. they mix just fine. It's the same stuff, just now with more red flavoring.

Thank to you all for the help. It was for sure a yellow jug last year also so I'm crossing that off my worry list. The fuel must be the culprit. I'm draining it all tonite (2 ski's full tanks) and starting over. I'm going to a different station on the way to the lake next time. It may have been the 1/2 tank that sat all winter in my garage (stabil added) but I've never had that happen in previous seasons. I'm starting to suspect the new fuel I bought yesterday.
