97 GTX with 40 hrs

As mentioned,97 GTX with 40 hrs, always OEM syn oil with updated fuel line & always garaged kept. The issue, gas/oil tanks full of 2-year-old gas/oil. So, no mystery here. Pull both tanks, flush & clean, replace oil lines & replace both filters, yada, yada, yada. Everybody here knows this routine. Pulling carbs I noticed each carb had double gaskets @ base. Factory shop/parts manual only shows one per carb.
Just spit balling here but the fuel lines were done @ the dealership in Houston so I'm assuming the tech pulled carb in the process, clean & re-installed with double gaskets. My question is, was the tech aware of an issue with intake gaskets thru customer feedback or service bulletin that would justify the double gasketing?
Or was it the MD 20-20 @ lunch? 🥴

No reason to change the oil or oil lines except the little 3/32 ones from the pump to the intake manifold. Oil doesn’t go bad.

Don’t use 2 carb base gaskets, no good reason for that.

Thank for the reply 👍. The doubling up on the gaskets was probably human error, just making sure & covering all the bases.
As far as the syn oil, if not sealed & open to the various detrimental conditions including stagnation, syn oil will go bad over time.
What I pulled out of the tank/lines & filter was indeed bad oil.
Petro is even worse when open to climate & stagnation.

No, the seadoo oil doesn't go bad, even the synthetic. I have used seadoo oil that is 20 years old with no issues at all.
Do whatever makes you comfortable but that 2 year oil is perfectly fine.
Also the oil in the rotary valve is from 1997 if the engine has never been apart and is also perfectly fine.

How was the oil "bad"?

Don't take my word for it because I won't take yours.
Call ANY oil manufacture & have that conversation of opened container with customer support or tech services.
Prepare yourself of them redefining "perfectly fine".
