I just picked up a 2001 Sportster LE. It has a 951 Rotax 130hp engine.

I was wondering what should be the WOT Rpm. The most I can get is 6200 rpm with two adults. Is this about right. I was wondering because I see that the rev limiter is 7500. I would have thought WOT would be around 7000 rpm.

The boat just hits 40mph according to the speedo with no cavatation. I have not checked this with a gps yet.

68-6950rpm's, man. Gone thru carbs? cleaned the raves?

Thanks for the reply. Haven't done anything yet. Just got it. Previous owner said raves were done beginning of season. Seems to run fine, no hesitation, so I never thought about the carbs.

This is my first Jet Boat. I bought it as a tender/dingy for my regular boat. I know with prop boats, rpm is affected by pitch and diameter of the prop as well as condition of bottom. With jet boats, I am not as knowledgeable, so I did not know if pitch/diameter of impeller had any effect..

it does, but not 800rpms. If wearring is bad, or impellor, you'd get ur 6900-ish rpms, but not go anywhere.

Pull the caps off the raves, and pull up on the center shaft, see if theres any restrictions, even still, i'd removethem and clean em up.

Yup... sounds like the raves aren't opening. A new set of sparkplugs couldn't hurt either.

My single 720 Sportster can move faster than that... and it's 40 hp less.
