Winterizing my 2002 GTX Limited 4-Tec

Hello all,
I'm looking to save a few bucks and was wondering if I could get some input on how to winterize my Sea Doo. I will be storing it in my garage over the winter.

Do a search on "winterize 4-tec". Lots of information will show up. Also, it is good to know if your 4-tec has an intercooler or not, as there are extra steps involved if you do.
Just ask Shayner about that!!

Also, go to the seadoo web site and download an owner's manual for your model. This will have the procedure in it step by step. Here is a link:

I' m looking for the same assistance Shayner!!
I have the same rig as you I believe. It's a 2004 4-tec gtx supercharged seadoo with a closed-loop cooling system. I winterize my 4.3L I/O bowrider, but I have the manual. No such luck with my seadoo. Any tips on where to get a manual or a step by step instructions to winterizing my rig.

Hey Shayner, still somewhat confused. Took battery out, fogged it, lubed it but read somewhere that in the 4-tecs you don't have to pump antifreeze in so I didn't. What are your thoughts???

I did that smarty pants. I was looking for something a little more detailed. Not just a list of what needs to be done, but rather how to. However I did print the 100 pg operators guide. I never received one. Karl just posted a more detailed version.

hey bud, here's the info need.first off pour the right amount of fuel stabilizer in fuel tank to gas ratio and start seadoo-turn on hose and let run for 5 to 10 mins,shut off hose then seadoo.
if you have an intercooler you need to disconnect the inlet and outlet lines,let drain and pour about 6oz of pure coolant into the intercooler and 10oz into the outlet that runs to the exhaust manifold,making sure the coolant goes into the manifold.if no innercooler disconnect the line from the flush connector and add antifreeze there,again making sure the antifreeze reaches the manifold.
change your oil and filter and lube all moving parts with lithiam grease at the pump,grease throtle assembly,change spark plugs.any seadoo dealer ship sells the kit for 79 bucks includes oil-filter-o rings and plugs.after oil is changed and plugs replaced,remove inlet to throtle body and insert key and hold the throtle wide open-press the start button,no worries the engine wont start at wide open throtle.at this point spray in your xp lube to fog the engine.if you want you can remove the fuel rail but i dont and never had an issue.after all the above steps are done remove your plugs again an spray xp lube into the cylinders for about 5 seconds each,leave the seat removed to vent so no mold collects over storage time,give her a good wax and you should be fine.
its also good to go over all your electrical connections and every nut and bolt to make sure all is well.check your hoses for cracks and such,just your typical inspections you should do every other ride anyway.

i did a search on e-bay and found a sourse there,the manual was on cd and it costed 9 bucks if i can remember right,good luck.
