Which hose do I need to pinch if I should need to tow my Sea Doo? Its on my 2001 Sea Doo GTX and the manual really isn't clear. On the side near the battery I have a large hose (indicated in Blue) and on the opposite side I have a clear/green hose (yellow) and a solid black hose (red). From what I can tell the small clear/green and black hoses attach to the back of the hull but I have no idea where the large hose attaches. Also, what is the large plastic box located above the battery that makes it very difficult to get to the battery cables?

It's not shown in either picture. It's the hose going from the pump to the motor, the hose has a "T" in it goes to the water control valve and the lower port side inlet on the motor. It's labeled water inlet hose on the diagram.

The plastic box is a resonator chamber for making the exhaust quieter.

Lou hit the hose answer.... I was scratching my head saying I don't see it.

My engine is a 951, I don't see any hoses going into my engine head like they do on the 787, they all seem to run underneath the engine and I cannot see where they attach on the engine. I did find that the larger port side hose goes to the water inlet where you can attach a garden hose and T's off near the stern, is this the correct hose to pinch?

Sorry, I guess I had a brain fart. It would be the hose marked part 28.

There are two hoses marked #28. You want the one that breaks to the right in the diagram. Follow the arrow from the pump support, there is only one that is feeding the engine's cooling system, the others are the drain side of the cooling system(arrows away from the engine at the pump mount). If you have or can download the owners manual from BRP HERE Be sure to check the manual on page 77 to reference the correct ski. They show pictures for a GTX, GTX RFI, and the GTX DI so depending on which exact model you have you will clamp the hose in a different place it looks like. Or the easiest thing to do, just don't break down or run out of fuel and you'll never need a tow :D

Good catch Dan, I thought I called myself looking, and only saw the hose toward the top of the page, but like my wife says I don't look with my eyes open.

haha well I surely hope I don't have to ever get a tow but its getting older and things do happen, I figure I be prepared just in case! Thanks for your help guys, it appears that my hoses are routed differently from the pictures in the manual making it difficult to follow.

The drawings are parts drawings, they are more concerned with showing the parts than where they are located.

You might want to download an owner and or service manual, you can download the from this site if you join as a premium member, or just google for them.
