Battery Quick Disconnects

Looking for a way to use a quick disconnect. Revitalizing this post as it really did not have a great solution mostly talking about just take the time to disconnect if fully. Everyone talking about losing the screws which I agree but my main issue is more where the battery is located it is really difficult to get to. So I would prefer an easy disconnect option. Currently I'm looking at but don't like that this is built for side connections and would like a top connection.

side post disconnect

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? It is really difficult to get to the battery in my unit making it almost impossible to easily remove the terminals. It is also my understanding that we really only need this on the negative terminal.

No not use the one in your link, not waterproof or marine rated.

You need a marine battery disconnect. download (1).jpg

Not questioning anything but I would like to fully understand the importance for marine rated around this specifically. I ask this because the terminals on the battery are fully exposed and can get water on them.

Corrosion for one and sparks with fuel vapors tend to go boom.
He kids you NOT.
I personally have witnessed that "BOOM" 3x within 4+ decades of PWC/boating
2 of them, oper(s) chicken shi*** the fuel line connections & as he said, vapor+spark...
And the 2 of the common events before the fireworks? Those 3 that I saw was always @ start up.
Pressurized(not over pressurized) fuel tank & fuel leaking past those butchered fuel line connections. (worm gear clamps)
Next, Cranking & cranking w/o starting all the while more un-combusted fuel vapor permeates past your aftermarket air cleaner & saturates the engine bay, then spark....
And to think those ambulance drivers will refuse to drive out there into the water, go figure.
Seriously, don't go "half measure".
Just ask the guy who bit his tongue in half when the handle pole slammed his jaw shut.
On second thought, don't ask, might not understand his reply.
