Hey everyone i new to this and needed a little hlp deciding on a good ski to buy. I have a $2000 limit so cant be anything new i have good mecanical backround so working on one is not a problem, ive had kawasaki x2s in the past so i know a lil. Ive been looking at xps found a 96 thats clean for 1500 i like it but then i found a 99 xp limited for 2000 whick id rather have but dont know what issues they all have what should i look for on both of these. also my dilema is i need to ride two on this sometimes so is an xp a bad idea should i look into an spx or something just dont want any 3 seaters andy help id appriciate thanks.

The "X4" skis (96 xps) have a cult following, and are very fun to ride. If you get that... you would still have $500 for upgrades or fixing things. The 99 XP is fun too. Its fast, and powerful.

If you need to ride 2 people all the time... a 3 seater will be more stable. If the 2 people are smaller/lighter, then the XP or XPS will be fine. If the 2 people are larger... it may be hard to ride all the time on the smaller hulls. The GSX line are 2 passenger skis... but they are a little bigger than the "X4" hulls.

Really... it's up to you. Just stay away from a fuel injected ski for you first SeaDoo.

Even 2 'light' people on the XP isn't a fun time. Get a GTX if you plan on hauling 2...then you can also ski / wake board behind it...

At first thought I would tell you to buy the XP because they are a blast. However if you are going to have one ski I would buy the GTX.

The GTX is much more stable, easier to ride, its a cruiser. I have a GTI and an XP, the XP will beat you up in a couple of hours, you can ride the GTX, or in my case the GTI all day. Go ahead and get the GTX, and when you get hooked buy an XP later.

The 91 is gone, I'm not to worried about the whole getting wet thing and tipping I just wanted to make sure I can get out through the no wake zone with my girl on back, I'm looking into a 95 spx now going Friday to look at it and if its worth it I'm most likely getting it, is there and upgrades I can do to make it better or can I swap a XP motor into it or is that a lot of work.

an spx is a seadoo x2 hull which is even less stable than an x4(xp) hull. what your looking for, imo, is a gsx. its the mix between a 2seater and a 3 seater.

Ok didn't know it was smaller thanks, I really like the gsx but can't seem to find one in my price range within reasonable distance form me

yeah they keept the same top between the x2's and x4's but the bottom of the x4 is such diffrent and better, imo. just hold out, a deal will come along for you.

Well I bought a very clean 94 XP for me and I'm going to pick up a gtx for the woman and kids got the XP for 850 really clean not faded on the top at all just a lil bit on the lower green part but it might buff out, whatnshould I buff withand alsothe compression is about 145 which I think it should be good for a Littleton while, Hopefully lol

Also I bought it in pa and I'm in Ohio, someone said i need the Hull indentification number and motor id inknownwhere the Hull one is but where is it on the motor if I really do need both I'm trying to be on the water tomorrow sonif someone knows I'd appreciate it thanks for everything

The engine tag may be gone. They don't always make it threw rebuild processes. But... all you have to do is take the PA title to Ohio, and they will issue you an Ohio title, and temp registration.
