I am selling my beautiful, fast (59mph) , and extremely maneuverable Sea-Doo Speedster 150 [215 hp]. This Jet Boat retailed for $19,999 brand new (2010 model is $21,999). I am asking my $13,500 for my Sea-Doo Speedster, which includes the trailer. This boat was purchased just two and a half years ago, and it was used for about 10 hours though the hour meter shows 8 hours. The boat has never been abused and it is in great condition, I’ve never beached it nor hit anything with it.

Before taxes, I paid $19,000 (not including NYS taxes) for this 2.5 year-old Jet Boat. It comes with ALL the original paperwork, including all manuals, and ownership documents. It comes with a $450 dollar cover as well, which has the anti-pooling poles. I changed the oil after the first year and its only really seen two summers of which 3 hours was put on it in 2009 after my wife and I buffed and waxed the entire boat, even added spaceage vinyl protection to the seats and back swim cushion. But I do add Stabil to the gas and clean out for winterization, and the battery is on a maintainer at all times. It has an mp3 CD player with very loud speakers for music. The title does have a lien on it, but should be easy to get past and will transfer of ownership upon full payment. I will need to work out a few things with the lender but it should be a quick transaction.

I'd probably pay around $10k to be honest. I've seen 07's going anywhere from 9k-12k, and this isn't the best time of year to try and sell a boat. Oh and he overpayed to begin with.

I bought my boat in Nov, 2006 Sportster 215hp, was in NADA for $12500 then. Now NADA said yesterday $8300. Check NADA and see what it says, the prices have obviously gone down, prob from economy. I called a local Sea Doo dealership to check for work done on my boat under warranty, of which there was none, and they told me they could of got me a brand new Speedster for what I paid for mine. They said they are hurting that bad.

Good luck.

Book price is $8300/$8400. I can buy a new left-over 08 speedster at the local dealer with a full 3 year warranty, and that I KNOW hasn't been abused for $14,000. So why would I choose to buy a used boat to only save $500? At best... you will get $10k if you hold onto it for a few more months when the weather is nice. (and the snow has melted)

I agree with the others... you overpaid for it in the first place. (sorry, but just saying)

Last thing... since the economy sux... There are no banks giving a privet loan for used equipment. (boats, bikes, etc) so you have to find someone who is willing to pay cash, and most of the time, if that person can pay $10k cash... they are going to buy a new boat and get financed.

Just my 2 cents.

OK... so now for my 3 cents...

I'm in the middle of this myself. I've been selling a few bikes this past winter. One of them is a low mi 2006 Buell. I paid $10k for it 3.5years ago... and I would love to say it's worth more... but the book price is at $5100... and that's what I have it for sale for.

There is no reason for you to think that your boat is worth anymore than "THE BOOK PRICE".

Yes... I am being a little blunt... but I've had so many people looking to trade me for my bike... and they think that their bone stock quad is worth twice (or more) than what the book price is.

I'll be the first to admit that there are things that the book doesn't give a real price on... but it's older, or collectible. (your boat is neither) also... the low hour thing doesn't mean a thing. There are a bunch of boats and PWC that have low hours because people buy them and decide it's not the TOY for them.

I have been looking for a similar Speedster 150. The prices are all over the board. It is impossible to find any reason in them. I bid on an ebay auction for an '05 with 25 hours on it. I thought I had it for $6,700 and left the house, only to have someone bid $6,900 with less than a minute left in the auction. From my research, I think the thing is worth about $9K. Good luck.
