my year long wait for a package from NJ has finally arrived today. inside amongst other things was my thrust vector kit from Jet Boat Pilot. Lining up the bolts to refit was a bit of a pain but I got there in the end.

What is that contraption supposed to do, how does it work and if it does work, how much does it cost?

Why did it take a year for the package to arrive from New Jersey To Australia? Who was your shipper? UPS, FedX or USPS? Probably USPS. HaHa.

JPass is spot on. I often launch at the mouth of the Yarra river here in Melbourne and end up in the heart of the city which is all 5 knot zone. Hopefully this will help stop that side to side swaying you get at slow speeds and help with docking.

Not sure I would like a rudder for docking. I love the control of the jets when docking. I can turn 360 degrees in the length of the boat. I wouldn't be able to do that with a rudder.

You can still do that with these "rudders". They don't create enough drag to change the characteristics you mention. They're even spring loaded to flip up should you ever bottom the boat out, so no worries about breaking them off either.

I can bring our boat within inches of the dock and keep her there with amazing control with our jet boat. At first I had trouble, but once I got the hang of it, I found the boat very controllable. The only thing I miss from our old boat is a true neutral.

This shows the slow speed maneuverability differences with and without the "fins":

Those are gorgeous pictures. This will also help with a tow. The boat really does need a rudder when under tow otherwise you get this sway to sway that is really not fun.

I watched the video, very interesting. Maybe its a single vs/ twin engine thing. I don't have to go full lock to dock the boat. just minor movement of the wheel and throttle.

I've posted it before, but here's how I dock in the canals on the ICW. Not my best docking attempt, but an example. Docking on the ICW is a bit more challenging with the wind and currents that change frequently.

Glad you have found something that works for you.

Why did it take a year to get my New Jersey To Australia? HaHa.

Because I kept sending things to my family over there and they kept trying to find bigger boxes haha

Haha thanks, that's crown casino there on the south bank of the Yarra river in the 2nd pic, had the challenger parked out the front of there for NYE fireworks a few years ago.

Our 210 is about 6 inches too long to fit in our garage, so unfortunately she's parked in the driveway On top of that, our boat is black and we live in the sunshine state. The boat came with a mooring cover, but that left the black sides exposed to the sun. Took her down to our upholstery lady and had her add a skirt to go with the mooring cover. Here's what we ended up with. Works like a champ.

It was about $400-450. I'm not positive, because we did a bunch of other work as well. We added 2 vents to the mooring cover. We also put a zippered mesh screen inside the rear hatch in the mooring cover as well. That way on nice days we can unzip the rear hatch and get some airflow, but the mesh keeps bugs and animals out. We also re-sealed the seat cushions as we were having some water issues with the foam beneath the vinyl and plastic covering. We're very particular about our boats.lol.

We figured it was less than the cost of a year's worth of covered storage and should last about 6-7 years. These types of covers have worked well for us in the past in regards to outside storage issues.

Also replaced the old grey bimini with a black one while we had the skirt made. Happy with the results although I'd like to lower the bimini a bit.

Broke one of my Bimini mounts the other day. Upgraded to stainless and drilled out for bigger screws into the hull. Looks sweet.

Confirming this mod is amazing. Changes the dynamic of the boat completely at low speed. Came into dock at Mallacoota yesterday and didn't get it quite right. Was able to reverse out with current and wind and try again. No side to side at slow speed. Held position a lot better.

Nice catch - that is just my ipad resting there plugged into the AUX. I was watching the NCAA basketball tourney while putting in the HT.

Yes - I just got some cheap blue LEDs off ebay based on some other forum threads and replaced the stock bulbs. That was very easy and looks pretty good.
