New to PWCs here, am searching forum for wear ring, carbon ring, float ring install videos, tutorials etc.

I keep coming across term "cavitation" . I know it has to do with throttle, but what does it mean. Thanks from a newbie.

OK,, when you floor a car and the tires spin, they loose traction but the engine is running fine, and at high RPMs. Cavitation is when the impeller looses "traction" and spins but the engine RPMs are high.

You can have cavitation caused by a few things. Bad wear ring, bent impeller, bad carbon seal allowing air to be sucked into the impeller..

It gets MUCH more technical than that, but in layman a terms, this is what happens.

Nice explanation. Feels like the clutch slipping of a car or motorcycle, at least for those of us old enough to know what driving a manual transmission is like. LOL.

Do not have a slush-box vehicle ... sure does ease the aggravation of having women want to drive.
Oh, Oh, am I in trouble again?
Oh ya, cavitation: another term for "sucking wind". In extreme conditions, on a boat anyway, it can burn a lateral hole in the prop.
