Water line feeding exhaust tip area

Howdy all, was wondering if I can plug off the little feeder line that dumps water out approx. 1.5" inside the black plastic exhaust tip on the rear of ski. What's it for anyways? Maybe noise surpression... (not the main feeder at the manifold area). I would like to roll that line, and the pee hole out the rear, into one bypass billet fitting out the side. Thanx for the feed back.... MH 1996 GTI

you could, cant see no harm in it. Cant be "noise supression", since the exhaust is submerged. Just make sure yuo stay with the size fitting thats at the exhaust, not the pee-hole/tell-tale size. Might run into probs with that.

Thanx for the input... the only thing that I can think of is cooling of the plastic exhaust port. This piece is approx. 4" long, the feeder line comes in at the 1/2 way mark though, leaving 2" of "uncooled" pipe, so that theory might be no good. Noise surpression might be it as the exhaust port is above the water when wide open, thus the need for a little squirt to keep the noise down, (Envrio crap). Maybe others will chime in w/ their thoughts. Keep em coming. Thanx...MH

2 pennies

Theres enough fittings on the exhaust pipe, itself, to install anutha one, for the cylinders to dump the "extra" flow of water, so thats why they installed that fitting at back. Consider the fact, of ALL the water run'n thru the motor, cylinders, head, then whats "trapped" at the time, inside the waterbox....cant see "removing/plugging that fitting at the elbow, to cause problems with overheating of the connector....?

The purpose of that hose is to let the water drain from the engine after you shut it off. You can move this outlet anywhere you want as long as it is lower than the engine. Why do you want to relocate it anyway?

Dennis, thanx for the input.
Want to install a bypass fitting up by the rear grab handle on the starboard side of the area approx 2"below the seat so I can see the water coming out. The 3/8ths line that allows the water to drain after shut off will get me a nice flow to observe. If that line needs to be lower than the motor, well ok, I can basically, swap the lines. plum the after shut off drainage w/ the pee hole 1/4" line to go out the tip area and plum the 3/8ths( old after shut off drain line) to squirt out the billet fitting. (can't find a billet 1/4 " fitting to simply relocate the tiny pee hole) What do ya think... I hope this all makes sence. MH
